I went out of the box a d I have jedwiga as my main i have her to 4 red stars and Dewey as my assistant I'm k35 and so far it's worked well. With my t1 meat wall! Your favorite AKA 😂

Mason weaver, Laurato make for good assitant wall gens for the amount of buff you can get total from there main skill an specialties.

I tried dewey main and jadwiga assist. It worked ok. I was able to defend against a few smaller hits in battlefield, but not as many as i would have preferred. Considering i'm running half cavs half siege as my t1 wall, i guess i should swap back to dewey leo. I am happy to note that dewey jadwiga is a compatible pair and leo 3 boudica is a compatible pair. Now, to fine tune some things.

AKA Leonidas I and William Marshall is a good combination. I have a 100 mill and Ground wall, including 1,500+ layers. Do you think this is a good defense setup? I have completed all of Marshall'sspecialties. I also have a siege layer and want to use them as part of my defense.

I have Yi Sun-sin has an assistant general. My question is the wording, it states "Increases in-city troops' attack by 10% and in-city ground troops and mounted troops' attack by another 15% when the General is the Main City Defense General". Because he is the assistant, the other 15% does NOT apply?

I recently made a decision to boost ground stats by using a ground based assistant. Conventional wisdom suggested that Trajan is the best for that role. But since I use Trajan as assistant to Elise already I had to make a choice between Robert the Bruce and Soult (who is in the relics). I finally decided on Soult as his buffs appear better than Robert the Bruce. Is there something I'm missing?

No bro, you are quite right. Even when you factor in the fact that Soult can’t take the ground attack book, his ground stats are still slightly better than Robert’s. However, Robert does provide buffs for mounted troops, including HP, and a little attack buffs for both siege and ranged troops. In addition, since he is in the tavern, he is comparatively easier to get than Soult. Putting all of that together, I felt that more than compensates for the difference in buffs, which is why I recommended Robert as my F2P choice. 👌

No, they will get buffs from thier own generals as well as bonus buffs from your research and Embassy duty officer. They may also get some buffs from thier own research.

No, specialties from all assistants will apply (depending on what type of stat it is). The point I was making in the video is most people assume that for debuff generals, only their debuffs apply. This is true when you use them in a sub city, but not completely true when you put them on the wall. Both the debuffs and buffs in the specialties will apply on the wall 😉👍

Also make sure none of the books on your assistant are gray. If they are than they are too similar to something on your main and will have no effect.

if you consider all 4 specialties, lautaro is better than Leonadias. Also, what do you mean by stat? specialties or basic attributes (leadership, attack etc)? Overall, very good instruction for new players. However, defense is way more complicated than choosing main and assist defense generals. One has to consider what type of defense they want to build, what kind of enemy attack that they want to defend, what buff they can get, what troops composition they can put together etc. It doesn't make any sense to have siege defense general if one couldn't get high siege attack/hp/defense buffs which certainly cost more money than other troop types. Without high siege hp/defense/attack buffs, a large amount of sieges in cities will only be a piece of fresh easy meat for other high buff players to kill. lots of to consider...

I think the one with the highest power, fully geared, refined etc., should be the main general, so if your Boudica is stronger than Dewey, it should be all good. But that's just my opinion.

I agree with chyrs. You want to max out whichever general you can. For assistant generals: red star skills do not matter, armor does not matter, cultivated stats do not matter, and attached beasts or dragons do not matter (unless a skill requires it to give additional buff). Keep these in mind when choosing who you place as an assistant, as well. The above do not matters also apply to attacking march assistant generals.

Go with a primary that you can awaken. Don't put a premium general as your primary. They're not worth it. An awakened tavern general is better than a premium general that has no red stars.
