This movie is so underrated as far as James Cameron’s movies and action/comedies in general goes. The whole scene with Bill Paxton on the dam still leaves me in stitches. I also really love the “battery Aziz” moment.

It's a really fun movie, but it's definitely some of Cameron's lesser work. It's just that he's got such a talent for blockbuster filmmaking that lesser Cameron is still pretty darn great. (Every interview I've heard from him make him seem like an insufferable prick, though.)

Arnold coming out the pool feels like an homage to the beginning of Goldfinger. Of course Bond/Connery has a fake bird on his head, but otherwise it feels the same, including the tux underneath the swimwear.

The guy who played the very minor role of the extremist tasked as cameraman for the epic threat video had one of the best small movie roles of all time. In a movie full cartoon-like characters and action, he absolutely shines during his tiny tiny bit of screen time.

Fun fact: the part where Jamie Lee Curtis falls to the floor during the striptease wasn't scripted, she slipped and fell for real. You can see Arnie almost getting up to help her then sitting back down when she continued as if nothing happened

This movie is so much fun, I love it. I watched it for the first time a couple of years ago and even if it is far from perfect, it has so much energy and charm, I just love James Cameron's movies (except for Avatar). I'm a straight gal so "the scene" made me start working out so I could look like Jamie Lee Curtis lol, she was incredible! Arnold is always such a joy to see, even when he doesn't show off his muscles as much. I love that he wore a tux more than once in this movie. Oh and the last scene is iconic, I love to hate Bill Paxton's douchey characters. You should definitely do more Arnold movie reviews, he's so great.

Apparently the Jamie Lee strip-n-fall move was an accident. But Jame Cameron- like a boss- kept it in the movie. If you can't fit it: feature it. P.S. "Battery Aziz" is low-key a classic line. I work at a TV station, and we quote this whenever a camera battery is running low.

I've loved this movie since I first saw it in early 1995 when I was 9 even back then when I didn't know half the shit that was going on not to mention I was still not completely fluent in English yet, I was close but even if I was fluent I'm sure just as much would've went over my head...I know superlatives like Masterpiece or Legend is thrown Alot and most things or people it's said about dont deserve it but I don't use words like that unless I absolutely mean it and I ABSOLUTELY MEAN IT WHEN I SAY THE FILM IS A MASTERPIECE!!! I mean if u love Ahnuld as much as I do I can't imagine u not thinking something similar or at least loving it...at that time he was my favorite actor and he remains one of my all time favorites in my top 5 almost certainly and no question in my top 10..even movies that are admittedly pretty crappy like Collateral Damage I still love because Arnold cant really do any wrong in my eyes...Jesus man even when I didn't know half(or more)of what was going on I absolutely adored this movie and man when I got older and understood everything that was going on my love for it grew by like 10x ...it's one of the funniest movies or just anything I've ever seen and its all effortless..it doesn't feel like anyone is really trying it just comes natural...just everything from the comedy to the action to the romance and the whole situation with Harry and Helen and their marriage falling apart..Jesus man I $#it u not that scene with Helen doin that striptease for Harry in that thong with that flawless body had my heart pumpin and my nether regions doing things I was mostly confused about and almost 30 years Jamie Lee Curtis is still so damn hot I mean not quite as much in real life anymore but in that movie? I'll just say a female looking that damn good is all the woman I'd ever need...then we got Tom Arnold's crazy ass and that line is something I've never forgotten especially when there's been times where I've felt I might be taking my girl for granted..."she's a flesh and blood woman and youre never there" I absolutely loved Tom Arnold in this movie along with Bill Paxton(rip bruh I love that dude) and his crazy lies and antics...but not just the screenplay is classic, as usual James Cameron is on point with some truly amazing direction, some amazing action scenes ..that scene with Harry crazy ass actually tryna jump a gap at least 150 feet with a Horse? Heh heh the stuff of legend..let me stop here cuz im really going on and on and I could keep going..the critics though I usually don't care what they think I love this movie so much I really think it deserved much more praise from critics but I've never talked to anyone about this movie and them say I didn't at least like it and the user ratings on Google and IMDb seems to show I'm far from the only one who absolutely adores this movie it really is one of my all time favorite films in any and all genres and after T2 and then this its where I started being on the look out for anything by James Cameron..no doubt about it one of the absolute greats in film of all time..its just too bad he didn't do more films though of course I respect it but by time hes done with avatar i just hope he gives a couple more before he retires but with this masterpiece along with T2(especially T2) the first Terminator, Aliens and extra especially Titanic he's done more than enough cuz they're all essential imo..I love Avatar and the second one was much better than I thought they'd be but they're not the absolute classics the other films I mentioned are...I have absolutely no complaints about True Lies ..like I said earlier I Adore This Movie..now it you'll excuse me I'm going to check out that striptease scene again..man when Harry dropped that tape recorder that wasn't in the script, that was Arnold Poppin a boner on set and as good as she looks I absolutely can't blame him...I think True Lies was the most expensive movie of all time until Titanic hit...I think it topped T2's budget by a few million and damn u doing Escape From New York too? Damn man that's another classic I love more than I can explain but if I had to choose which I love more I'd have to go with True Lies...at least most days

This movie came out in 1994, 29 years ago and James Cameron has directed a whopping 3 movies since... which doesn't seem like a lot but they've made a combined 7 billion which is probably still more than anyone else even if they've directed 100 movies in that same time.
