Thanks Les, I was 10 when I came to live in Waterloo but the whole area was our playground, was a British boys brigade cadet at st Paul's church, at Lawson theatre first kissed a girl in back seats, didn't stay long with that, ha ha, was telegram boy after school on Saturday s n holidays for Waterloo post office, earnt more $$ there then when I started my apprenticeship at 16, saw most of housing units go up in the Loo, known as the garden suburb of South Sydney in our years, having bets SP at local pubs, Winns clothes store, Gee these bring back so many good memories, keep up the good work

I was a gutter snipe in the Surrey Hills district around the mid sixties , that's 1960's . Untold poverty abounded everywhere . A lot of the terrace dwellings were derelict and stank to high heaven , being inhabited by poor wretched alcoholics . Many an adventure ensued around that locality .

I haven't heard that word since I was a child "guttersnipe.". Life must have been terrible for you. I'm sure you had many adventures. I sincerely hope that your life has improved greatly by now. Thank you for letting me know.

I am writing a book on Russians in Sydney in the beginning of XX-th century, and these photographs are really of my particular interest. They will help me to write on street scenes and similar pieces of my work. Thank you again.
