Redfin Fishing: Fishing For Big Perch In Winter

Dad and I went fishing for perch, or as we call them in Australia, redfin. We took our lures and left our bait at home. We caught most of our fish trolling, catching a few on soft plastic in one spot on the lake. We caught some lovely big winter perch in the closing days of August.

I grew up fishing with my Dad, mostly at Lake Eildon. He’s been gone for nearly 30 years, but I still have the Doggett tinny we fished from together, and still use it at Eildon where his ashes remain. Fishing with your Dad is very special, and I still feel like my Dad is with me everytime I get a chance to be on the water in his/our boat. Wish I’d had videos of Dad & I like this Robby. Great forever memories.

Yeah my dad and I did fish a bit and camped out, but it was not as much as I would have liked. My young fella has a little tinny, i think I’ll make it my mission this summer to spend some quality time on the water. Thanks Robbie for the inspiration and the memories i have. 👍🏼

Hi mate, yeah I'm aware of that. If I want to throw a fish back, no government agency will EVER force me to do so. Nor will anybody else. Redfin taste amazing and are so much fun to catch. If the redfin weren't there, neither would we be, nor would many other anglers Redfin are the biggest drawcard for anglers. The Greenies hate them though. LOL 😂

They have also banned gold prospecting in most rivers but that won’t stop me because the law is ridiculous and made because of pressure from the fun police, namely the Greens! You could have thousands of hobbyist prospectors with a shovel, pan and a river sluice and not do one half of one percent the damage and change that occurs every time we have a flood.
