Flea is the energy, John is the soul, Anthony is the voice and Chad is the beating heart. *Red Hot Chili Peppers 4ever*
My goodness, as soon as John started playing the opening riff on guitar, I started to feel every joyful emotion known to man. This, this right here, is why I have always loved the Red Hot Chili Peppers and their music. It doesn’t get more quintessential than this. Can’t wait for the new album and especially their SD show in July.

Exactly! His guitar is merely a tool for his soul to have its own voice which is unique. If you're interested there is this lady with her Clarinet. Same idea but different genre. @@DoItForU The expression of being is always same in its context, that what differs is the expression itself, and that is art, this is life. Do you expect a rose to be not a rose, even though coming to see a rose garden? Well here you are, to experience, see, listen and taste who RHCP are. They are who they have always been, more refined, cultivated, each going through different phases in life, experiencing so much without losing touch to who they are as a band and as an individual. The same goes for everything in life, if you expect life to be different than what it is, then you do not understand its essence. Evolution and development are all about refinement of what is already there, of the potential and its base. I am very happy to absorb the vibes, I never truly focus on lyrics, but what is expressed by the music itself. The tone, the frequency, all of the non verbal and verbal information that are distant from semantics. I focus on the paralinguistic aspects, which give me hints about the feelings, the deeper thoughts and the context in a way that language can't truly grasp without losing touch of the dignified presence of what we sense.

RHCP are one of those rare unique mega superstar bands that still feels like 4 friends jamming in a garage together.. Very rare for a great band together almost 40 years, who have evolved so much, but they never alienate their fans, because they refuse to release anything below standard.
@JD-gk7eh2 жыл бұрын
To be a bit fair, they've had a very turbulent guitar spot over the years. This John's third time joining the band after all. They had at least achieved long bouts of stability with their guitarist after the late 90s (Frusciante 88-92, Pat Smear? uh someone... 92-93, Navarro 93-98, Fruscianti 99-09, Klinghoffer 09-19, Fruscianti 19-now). The Core of Smith, Flea, and Kedis has been together since 1988, which is amazing, for sure, though.

Not a bad opening track, for sure. Of course my favorite part is Frusciante's brilliant guitar playing. No offense to Klinghoffer or any former chili guitarist but Frusciante can't be matched. It doesn't feel like the Chili Peppers without him. Although I did enjoy them playing One Hot Minute material with Klinghoffer. That's not coming back, I wonder if they'll even play any of their catalog from their time with Klinghoffer.
@michakowalski29302 жыл бұрын
@@cjfernandez9089 probably not, in the red hot chili peppers book they released before john left in 2009, there were interviews and John said that he NEVER listened to OHM as it would be like listening to his girlfriend being fucked by other guy. : D You think with their catalogue he will respect klinghoffer guitar work, I say no chance and honestly (with some minor exception) not a huge loss.

Honestly, there’s nothing special to Chad’s playing. He’s playing the same thing that he’s been playing for the last 25 years. I like this song and this new cycle for the Peppers, but in a way, it feels like this song makes the Pepper’s strengths and weaknesses both very apparent. Frusciante and Flea definitely carry this song. Frusciante brought his classic tone and beautiful playing style back to the band, along with those great backing vocals. Chad’s drum phrasing is very generic and boring. Not very creative from a drumming standpoint. Anthony sounds great in the chorus of this tune, but man, whatever he’s doing in the beginning of this song just doesn’t really sound right. I don’t know. That’s just my take. Mostly just bored of Chad’s complacency.

@@Swollen_Goat Well said! The Getaway is not one of my fave RHCP albums but it was still one of my favorites of that year if that makes sense. In all the well-earned hyped around John's return, I hope Josh doesn't feel like his contributions were under the mark. He successfully filled John's pretty much un-fillable shoes and did a great job at it!

I like both John and Josh’s guitar 🎸work on RHCP 🌶 don’t forget John was Josh’s teacher/padawan around the time John was leaving for the 2nd time. ;)

@@KevinLuWX Nah they scraped that album when John wanted to come back and they started working on new music, nothing they will release now will be Joshs work

they sound great, but the classic RHCP sound dates back in the 80's. This is the "new RHCP" sound since 2000's, to be true.

For a 59 year old rocker he’s looking pretty awesome for his age. Lovin this tune it’s smooth original and right to their roots.

John's so insanely good. The only guitarist I can compare him to in terms of talent is Buckethead, and John is probably better. Anything John plays on will be good he's got the Midas touch.

I heard somewhere recently that Anthony doesnt know how the band got so recognized because he doesn't think he's a good singer. I don't know if this is true or not, BUT, what is true is this man can SING! Red Hot Chili Peppers isn't just a band, they're a feeling. 😍🥰😍

I could listen to them (and did) because my dad picked up cassettes at yard sales and such. Now I'm 38 years old. Tf!? Love it whatever

@@FantaisyK I still remember being like 14 and my mom taking away my bssm album after she heard sir psycho sexy. My dad listened to the whole album to check it out, and the next day I was sitting in my room reading when the cd landed in my lap. I looked up and my dad was standing there and said 'that's a damn good record. don't tell your mom.', and just walked away. My dad was an awesome guy.

its because a team of music producers and text writers came together and pretty much made a caricature of a chilli pepper song and then they sitll fucking played it, thats just pathetic.

Speaking on behalf of every little chili pepper out there whose lives were changing and changed by the music of RHCP, I must say, thank you. To whom specifically, I do not know. Just thank you, for I am eternally grateful that my favorite group of slinky, funky, and rocky boys have released new music. I cried tears of joy during this video this Friday morning (here in Sweden), unexpected to say the least. Thank you. Unlimited love from us to you, RHCP.
