Does everyone remember two years ago when Vanderbilt was healthy and they made it to the conference finals. Improvement at Head Coach, Health, Continuity Chemistry, Vincent and Christie raises the ceiling. Hopeful.

More player movement on offense and more offensive rebounding are no brainer issues and corrections should help the team with a few more games. Beyond that, we will see how the same group pans out over the course of the season. Pelinka's job should depend on it turning out well.

I think its a good plan that JJ has, hold every one accountable to improve 10 to 15 percent and be more valuable in their roles. Laker FO stay out of the way and let JJ cook, stay out of the kitchen. Chemistry and Continuity take time. Vincent and Vanderbilt provide much needed depth.

What most don't understand is during the season everything is fine with everybody however when the playoffs come most have a better idea how to defend you that's what happens to players like not just delo but James harden as well. Dilo is back with a new coach who was a phenomenal shooter when he played in the league, and he will be able to coach dilo to be more assertive as well as effective. Those none performing dilo playoff days are over with coach Reddick

Brian and Andy, What is the real potential of Christie vs the optimisim for THT a few years ago? 🤔 Is the Lakers actual ceiling... that freaking Play In Tournament?
@LockedOnLakers
@LockedOnLakers Ай бұрын
This is a very interesting question, maybe one we'll explore on a show next week. But I'd say the biggest difference between Christie and THT is that Christie's best skills (defense, outside shooting, rebounding) are easier to slot into a clearly defined role, whereas THT was far more of an on-ball player (and frankly, not very useful away from it), and therefore required more specifically tailored around him to attempt unlocking him. Obviously, neither are/were truly proven at the stages of their respective careers when they got real contracts. But I do think Christie's potential feels more concrete, and THT's potential felt much more like something where the ingredients were there, but not yet been mixed, much less baked. THT required much more imagination than Christie. (And I say this as someone who once saw something in THT, for what it's worth. I think the Lakers screwed up any chance of developing him once they brought in Russ, basically a rich man's version of THT who took away many chances for the kid to get reps. But there are still no guarantees it would have worked out regardless, as seen by the lack of sustained progress in Utah.) Appreciate you watching. AK

Even the Celtics and OKC are vulnerable if they lose one or two key players. What they have is Depth and not superstars, The Lakers are moving in that direction (building depth) Patience, chemistry and continuity take time.

Some things have actually worked in our favor, no team wants Dlo! This puts Dlo under tremendous pressure to improve defensively or he will be down graded to a filler type player not worthy of the contract he believes he deserves. Dlo has the ability to improve defensively just like he improved his 3pt shooting when everyone was begging the Lakers to trade him last season. If Im right about Redick this is the talk he had with Dlo, now let's see if he elevates his game defensively

@@giftedimagesllcBruh….the only reason DLo is still a Laker right now is because Atlanta’s owner killed the Murray trade & none of these other teams wanted DLo to opt into his final year. But as a true expiring contract this season - I hope his bags are packed. Yours too. 😅
@giftedimagesllc
@giftedimagesllc Ай бұрын
@@_WEsTWooD ATL didn’t kill that trade, Rob did because he’s hell bent on holding on to Reaves. Murray would be a Laker RIGHT NOW for that very reason. @LockedOnLakers
@LockedOnLakers Ай бұрын
I can tell you they think he can be a two-way player. The evidence is dicey (he was better a couple years ago defensively than last). But he's going to be a much bigger part of the offense than Christie. So it just depends on how you want to define terms. Is Christie going to be a better defensive player than Reaves? That would be my bet, for sure. But he's also likely not to have nearly the impact on the other end. So if you're calling a guy a "two way" player, what's the bar you have to clear on each end? Thanks for watching. BK

This Christie talk is going too far.....the 2nd best 2-way player on the team this upcoming season???? This is getting to the level you guys were overrating DLo going into last season. Darvin Ham is not the reason Max shot like 🗑 last season.....it's like you have purged what you saw from Max on the court last season from memory only to focus on Ham not playing him when they needed WINS late in the season. It was no time to give Max minutes he didn't deserve. This guy better be lights out this season the way he gets hyped up here
@LockedOnLakers

I think Andy meant that less as a compliment to Christie and more that they don't have very many of those guys on the roster. And for the record, both of us agreed that once Christie wasn't in the rotation, getting in down the stretch and into the playoffs was a bad idea. I've been more Christie skeptical than many in the sense that I think the excitement over him hasn't necessarily matched the data on his play, and there's no question Christie was an avatar for a lot of people who were frustrated with Darvin. But all of that said, I do think he's got potential to be a valuable member of the rotation (and had better be, b/c they need it). Thanks for watching. BK

Move dlo to the bench, make him 6th man of the year. And put gabe vincent at starting pg. That gives us better defense in the starting lineup and better scoring off the bench. Dlo would demolish opposing teams bench units, and we need better perimeter defense in the starting lineup. Vincent is healthy now and ppl forget he was a big part of the heat beating boston and making the finals. Let him start, solves hella problems.
