After 3 months, and an inch or two of growth, I'm ready to share my thoughts on Redken's Extreme Length products! I LOVE the results I saw using these products, and really recommend them to anyone who struggles with thinning ends as they grow their hair out.

I've been using this for about a year now and it has made a huge difference. My hair is in so much better condition since using them. My hair is also fine and would break and damage very easily but I now have very little breakage.

Redken has transformed my hair. I'm an avid bleach/extreme and outrageous hair color lover. I love transforming my hair but my hair and scalp take south abuse. I haven't used this particular line of Redken, but the Redken So Soft in the gold packaging along with the Redken Diamond Oil have been life savers for my hair! Thanks for the review!

To the people who are saying that hair naturally grows 1 1/2 inches per 3 months, while that is true, as someone with really really fine hair that growth can often look terrible as the ends get split and damaged and generally look extra thin and straggly! There is a difference between inches of healthy growth and inches of split and gross ends.. I will try these products to hopefully help the ends of my hair stay healthy! Thanks for the great review!

I know, but products won't make your hair grow faster. It could look healthy but that doesn't mean it is. I'm not doubting that this did make her hair look and feel better, as I was trained in Redken and worked with their products for over a year. BUT fine hair doesn't look bad when it grows out all of the time, it varies from person to person and their hair density.

Brooke Elise You're right, Brooke! I definitely should have made that point more clear in the video. They claim that the line helps you achieve your "maximum length" by keeping your ends better in tact, and minimizing breakage. I'm impressed not with the amount my hair has grown since I've used it, but with how thick and healthy it has remained in doing so!

Bailey, an inch and a half of hair growth in three months is actually the average. I was trained in redken when I was in school and the extreme line is very high in protein so you really need to watch that. If you have too much protein, and not enough moisture, your hair can actually start breaking off if you're not careful.

Thank you for that. I was about to cite a similar fact, but I'm glad you backed it up with your knowledge and training. :)

+Brooke Elise I think this is happening to my hair now. I used to dye my hair ALOT when I was younger, and stopped after I turned 19, but I want to bleach it a bit now. I am getting Olaplex at my salon next week, but my hair is preeetty damaged and I don't think the olaplex will help it THAT much in the ends of my hair. Used Redken Extreme 3-4 years ago, in the middle of always-dyeing-my-hair-period, and my hair got SOOOO dry and frizzy, and just broke off like saltsticks or something. It was HORRIBLE. I've heard so many great things about Redken Extreme though, so I bought the series again last week, and I've washed my hair twice with it, and it already feels dried out again. It's kinda pricy for good hair products here in Norway, so do you have any tips (or products) I can get that will give my hair moisture while I'm still going to use the Redken Series?

Story of my life!! Ive got super fine hair ever since I was a little girl. I've also been told that I "have a lot" of hair yet its just thin. Ive been trying to grow it out for years and can't get it passed my boobs, so frustrating! Finally my hair dresser said that my fine hair can't handle the weight of a longer strand and it just breaks off. I finally just bought some clip in extensions. I will definitely try these product, thank you for reviewing them!

I just ran out of the last step, the brush-in conditioner, and haven't used it in 2 weeks. I can definitely see the difference. My hair now is frizzier, drier and not smooth at all. I just got my new supply and am very happy to start using it again. This product really works for smoothing down fine hair without weighing it down.

I love Redken I've been using the color magnetics sulfate free line for over a year and I refuse to use nothing else and that sys a lot because I always used to change up my shampoos and conditioners .. Absolutely wonderful

Love Extreme but can only use it every 3 months or so. Protein overload makes my hair so brittle and dry! I love it sporadically. It smells amazing. Great review!

I have been using redknen for years, I either use extreme or the color extend (red bottles) to take a break from the proteins. The anti snap serum has saved my split ends! when I tried to use something different I can see the difference in my hair, I would always use redknen products

Awesome review! I have the same issue with my hair, fine but a lot of it. I have been trying to grow out an undercut and have found that vitamins specifically for hair/skin/nails had made a huge difference in the quality of my hair. Do you also use vitamins? I would suggest them if you don't. :-) Thanks!

I have very very fine hair. And I've been struggling with growing my hair out since I was a teenager. I used to dye my hair blonde which really females my hair so it would break faster than it would grow out before. I couldn't get my hair longer than my shoulders. But finally I got it up to my mid back only with the help of biotin and Argan oil.

Great video. With the conditioner and the last product with the brush. I think I would put some condition in my palm and add a small amount of the last treatment into it and mix it to prevent it overloading and dilute it down but still get a little of the affects. Just a thought XX

So I attempted clicking the links to find the exact product, as well as where to buy them. However, understanding that this video was published in 2015, it seems as though the product has changed a little. Do you think you could guide me towards how to find this product or similar products?

This is the redken extreme line, not the extreme lengths, which is a different product line. Both can still be purchased on Amazon or through salons like chatters :)

Am I a good candidate to use these? I have pretty healthy hair despite getting it bleached in a salon every 2 months to obtain purple hair & I like to keep my hair short so the upkeep is not as costly. I picked up these same shampoo/conditioner & I find that it leaves my hair so soft every time which is what I've been told means that my hair takes to protein really well. Just wondering if I'm using something that I actually need lol

Hey Bunny! I definitely should have made it more clear in the video that this product doesn't claim to help your hair grow faster, but keep it from splitting and breaking as you do so that you can achieve the 3-6" it will grow in that amount of time. As for it being moisturizing, I would look to Brooke Elise comment below. It sounds like she has great insight into Redken, and that this line packs a lot of protein and, without additional moisture, it could cause your hair to break. I really hope this helps. Thanks so much for watching!

Shouldn't you not aim to absolutely abolish all your natural oils? Your hair needs them you only cause it to dry out. And your scalp will try to compensate for that by producing even more. Oil Isn't always bad you just need to not mess with the natural production of it or you get too much. Trust me I know I used to use harsh shampoo to get the same effect and it's not worth it.
