I started using the Redken volume shampoo/conditioner a couple of months ago. I’m trying to grow my hair out. I finally saw my stylist for a trim after 6 months and she asked what have I been doing because I had not one single split end on my shoulder length layered hair. She gave me a micro trim and said I didn’t need anymore off, she just refreshed the ends. Literally less than a centimeter.

As someone with Asian hair, your channel and recommendations have literally changed my hair life. Among the Asian community that I'm from, people have been taught to wash our hairs every single day (which is understandable for people living in Asian countries because it gets very humid and gross). But in dry climates in the States, washing hair everyday made mine brittle, frizzy, and dull. My scalp was very oily too. Now, I know how to properly shampoo, know which products to use, and have been successfully washing my hair every 3 to 4 days without feeling disgusting. The boost of confidence that comes from my healthy hair is also a bonus! Thank you for spreading your professional hair knowledge online!

I'm having the opposite situation but same results. ^^ I'm not Asian but live in Korea and stylists here tell me to wash my hair everyday. I told them "No, I have fine hair, it's not good for me, I have to wait 3 days" but they told me it's wrong and they look at me like I'm disgusting. ^^ I've been doing really bad stuff to my hair and now it's damaged. Trying to repair and take care of it.

Thanks for the breakdown of the Redken shampoos! All Soft works excellent for me, and since my hair/scalp doesn't get oily/grimy fast (textured/tight/extremely curly hair) and I can go longer between shampoos, I don't mind using All Soft (Original). Now the All Soft Mega line is too heavy for me. Also, I am currently testing the Extreme Lengths line, and so far, I like it. Although it's not as moisturizing as the All Soft, I still like it; I find EL to be balancing. Take care!!

@@erinschillings oh absolutely! I almost went with the Redken “all/soft” line and opted with volume after watching a lot of his videos. It lasts a whole week 🙈. I don’t have a terry cloth cap yet so I use a tshirt to keep my hair away from water during the week . I went with1. Redken Cleaning shampoo 2. Redken volume Shampoo (larger bottle) going to save lots of money. I barely use it- once a week 😂 it’s definitely going to last me 1.5-2 years maybe! 3. R-Volume Conditioner 4. Salon brand leave in conditioner until I use his recommendation 5. Salon brand Argan oil and blow out (drying brush). + wet brush It last a whole week and feels clean. Honestly his content saved my hair I was losing lots of hair. Like wads…And now, I barely do. 5-10 strands in the shower at max. And I had terrible Itchy/dandruff looking roots too. So bad… I had that for 4 years. I thought it would go away but it never did. I was even using prescription ketoconazlo but that didn’t even help the itching. The volume shampoo and new hair routine did! I occasionally add oil (pea size) on my ends to keep them shiny and hydrated. Good luck! I hope you find a routine that works! I hope he makes a video on hair masks reviews…that’s my next addition! Like Redken all soft mask vs the Moroccan masks.

Made my hair fly away.. best to my recollection.. I was using redkin products before for you guys were born, and did well on them . But its a different life. What do you recommend.. I tried the olaplex system. It was awful.. not enough moisture . Although the Olaplex 6 was good. They sent me a sample.. I won't buy it since there m still stuck with 3 bottles of Olaplex . Store wouldn't take it back.. waited to long. So they said.. anyway, what do you recommend .SomethingThat won't break the bank.. I pull my hair back in a bun when I'm in public .

I've been growing my hair out for a year now and have some good length, and am obsessed with finding the best products for my hair. I use Moroccanoil moisture repair line (which I note is on your recommended product list!), and have recently come across the Redken ABC line. I recently used the ABC pre-treatment with the moroccanoil shampoo and hair mask. However, today I used all Redken ABC products: the pre-treatment, shampoo, conditioner and then the leave-in. I'm so glad you did this video! Finding a good shampoo is hard and I agree the color extend magnetics is horrible. Used it once and hated it. I also didn't care for the bonder shampoo and felt it was drying after several uses. I always follow your advice on hair care products because you are always right and it has helped save my hair and my money!

Took all your advice and bought the products for my thin wavy/ straight hair. Amazing results ! My hair looks great and I washed it and did the leave on conditioner and blower dryer gel and i haven’t had to wash my hair now for a week. It looks great not dirty or unmanageable at all. Amazing thanking you ! ❤

That was some excellent product research. The spectrum of colourful Redken bottles seem so enticing 😮 the marketing always makes things so confusing for consumers. Glad to be happily sticking to the pastel pink bottle and less wash days, thank you 😊

My hair is fine and thin but extremely color damaged and dry so the frizz dismiss shampoo is the best for me and makes a huge difference! I was just considering chopping it off but I switched to the frizz dismiss, double the amount of serum I put on after deep conditioning and my hair is saved.

Finally! Thank you. You got me on to Redkin and I’m really happy about that. Now I have learned that they make another shampoo even more in line with my hair needs. Yay! As for conditioners - I don’t use any. I do use Moroccan oil mask that you recommend but use it as though it were a conditioner. Please review conditioners one day❤️. You have helped my hair more than anyone ever.

Chris, per your suggestion I started using the volume injection shampoo by Redken. I do like the way it makes my hair perform. However, I have not use the shampoo with sulfates for quite a few years because I have rosacea. It would be perfect if they would take the sulfates out and change that Packaging. The lids are so difficult to open. I stopped coloring my hair over 2 years ago and my hair is a beautiful silver gray. I get many compliments on it. Did not like any of the purple shampoos that I've used and your explanation that they just tint your hair made a lot of sense. I find that if I use a clarifying shampoo that it gets rid of the product buildup in my hair and it makes it really nice and silver. I just switched to the Redken hair cream and that did a great job. I appreciate all of your input and recommend your channel to others.

For me, Kerastase, the purple and the green ones, and weirdly enough the Elvital stuff from L’Oréal that you can get in drugstores worked best for my hair. I tried redken, especially the extreme series for a long time and it did exactly nothing to my hair. I have bleached, wavy and coarse hair.

@@00Mrsx00I've heard other people that had the same problem with the the Redken Volume Injection shampoo BUT apparently if you had that problem it means you weren't using it correctly. It's a really strong shampoo so if you use it too often or you use too much, it'll definitely dry your hair and you have to use it EXACTLY as Chris recommends and use it for what it's intended to be used for (so for example, if you don't style your hair with heat and just let your hair air dry, then there's no point in using this shampoo).

I have fine hair. I’ve been working to up my hair care game and have loved your videos over the past year or so. I finally tried the Volume Injection and I had to return it. I’m so bummed it didn’t work for me. I am confident that I’m washing my hair correctly, but I noticed my hair got heavy and greasy so quickly after washing with this. I went back to my JVN volume shampoo and it immediately returned to its typical styling. I know not all products work for everyone, but I wonder why this didn’t work for me.
