Even if sequels are bad, ending a movie on a cliffhanger is worse. Closure is a good thing. And if the first one is good people will watch the second one without question which is a good thing for the creators even if the sequel sucks they're still getting their money back. It's like if Firefly had no movie to end its plot.

I recall when I saw its ads years ago I assumed it WAS like a Jason statham Bourne identity thing, where I assumed he went there because he wanted to perfect the family from the armed gunmen kind of thing. Which sucks that they used one of the bigger climax setpieces in three trailer just to mislead and distort the actual story. It really drew me away because I had no intention of watching another super soldier spy movie. Sad I didn't see it in theaters now. Advertisements shouldve tried to be more mysterious, wouldn't have drawn the popcorn slob masses but wouldve intrigued atleast some dedicated and curious movie watchers. Filming scenes that will never make it into the film might be "committing to the bit" but Tarantino is the douche for doing so. Why eat into the budget and schedule for scenes that won't be in the movie? The fact that I saw those movies in cinemas and a few times since *and never heard about that gimmick* illustrates that it didn't really add anything to the mythos.
