I was hoping you could help me out. I have a set of the original 1980 FLIGHT CRANKS 170 length (no pinch) and the Bubble sprocket. Original decals but faded white. Do you know their value? Also on a 79-80 microline chome frame serial# 024xxx, v bars, torker neck, Uni composite seat, Suzie hubs/Araya rims. Any info on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

The flight cranks depending on condition I’ve seen go for $800 to $1650 with the redline bubble sprocket. The flight cranks that I had on one of my videos I paid $1650 BUT they were super clean with original chrome and decals. They also came with the correct redline bolts and tools. I don’t know anything about the Microline.

The two dimples on the older spindle are because the spindle is two pieces, and were put into a press to bind the two pieces together. Later spindles are smooth (no threads on the spindle) and are one piece, so no dimples.

The Half wrap arms on the right are first gen 401's, the full wrap arms on the left are later gen 1.5 and were late 1980's. 2nd gen flights had the threadless American BB like the one on the right were mid school. the BB on the left looks like the gen 1 and 1.5 flights. Then in the mid to late 90's they did the double pinch bolt crank arms. hope that helps.

Great information. I was hoping you would also talk about the 1990's cranks have a shim or bushing that are hard to never find replacements thank you
@bmxtrashtalk68792 ай бұрын
Thank you I don’t know much about shim or bushing

Great bit of knowledge to share there, back in the day i didn't know if i had a Mongoose, Supergoose, Ammaco...probably all 3 at some point with swapsies and all that, about to swap a frame sometimes..when someone mentions they heard the frame was cracked, haha...tricky waters then and tricky waters now! A great hobby to have still. 👌👍

Those cranks on the right are clearly from the Redline dark days, huge cost cutting measures vusible on those.

That Vector frame in the background is insane! That would last a week in hard use. As for Flight cranks, just order a new double pinch bolt set for $125 and get to riding. 👍

I’m so stuck with old original parts, I don’t have anything against the newer parts parts but I’m trying to build a very nice old school collection. Yeah that Vector is definitely one of my bikes that catches my eye all the time.

@@bmxtrashtalk6879 I hear you man, I guess I'm impatient when the new stuff is readily available. I've seen a guy spending hours restoring Dia-Compe brakes, when a new pair is $25. I just don't get it, but to each their own! I can only manage keeping two bikes tuned and rideable, so more power to you having a big collection. 👍 Love the channel, I've never actually seen a Vector frame before, cool stuff!

@@andybarrett6472 thank you, yeah she is one of my favorite Freestyle bikes that I have. Freestyle bikes got very popular 85’ to 88’ and a number of companies really brought their A game when making these bikes.

Dont forget in the 80's the Tecmatic BB's also came a little later as a set or loose. I finally got a 80's flight set with tecmatic BB's not long ago for my RL20II 👍

first set of crank arms I ever broke. Redline gave me the newer two bolt clap version. Snapped them too. BMX street wasn't kind to those cranks.

Thank you, I think there is a Redline duel pinch 90s crank set out there. The one I seen a guy told me they were 95’ but I didn’t really get a good look at them.
