@@WheelsNThangs About the only thing I don't currently have is an airbrush. I had one, it didn't work for crap, so I sold it... it was the siphon type rather than a gravity feed. I couldn't find paints that worked well with it, now that lacquers are impossible to get. I have drills, the vices, and many small tools from working on vintage lighters. I guess I'm gonna have to use a rattle can for the first go or two.

@@tootall5559 for an entry level airbrush, the harbor freight one is ok to get started. I still use mine from time to time even though I upgraded some time ago.
@tootall5559
@tootall5559 5 жыл бұрын
@@thejunkman I'll be looking at what they have to offer later this week. Might do well enough for now. I used to have a high dollar air brush, but somewhere along the way it got lost or something. It was like 200 dollars back in the early 80s, a lot for an airbrush then, that's without compressor or anything. I don't recall the brand. Sold by the Snap On dealer. Used it back then for small details on real cars, using acrylic lacquer paint. Then suddenly they outlawed the acrylic lacquer too, and well it just didn't do enamels well. It too was a siphon type but all the spray guns were back then. I don't know why or when gravity feed became popular.

It did not turn out too bad. But what did durprise me was how you applied the replacement wheels. You struggled by not use the proper removal / replacement hub axle tool to also hold the hubs to the outward end of the axle which would make it considerably easier to install and seat them more correctly. This tool also would offer much needed support to the hub to prevent possible damage to the hubs and the wheels as well as allow you to adjust the axles as needed. I hope you feel better soon!

WNT oh and I had spent ab 5 min googling and found your watch vise. Cheap enough and looks like a fab investment. I’m nervous ab using my standard vise to hold the cars while I drill/tap so I just hold it... which is fine for some cars but others, being shaped awkwardly, it’s a struggle. Yeah, I get mine from the redline shop. And depending on the casting I’ll get the flat or the domed. US castings were flat while the Hong Kong were domed.

Do you zink plate? I cant remember. I have been stockn up on what I feel are necessary items to do restorations. I hope to have everything soon. Its surprising how much is needed and how much it all costs. I see why you need patreons. Heck just the airbrush , airlines, airline fittings, & a compresser and your into some money! Im still a little unsure of all i need for zinc plating and electrolosis! Research needed !

I zinc plate sometimes but it's very seldom. I would worry about that later. Yes, this little hobby can get very expensive!

Nice job man! I have to say though, I really dislike those repro wheels, the caps stick out too far from what would be the tire! one small bit of advice, put something behind the wheel bearing when popping on the wheels. Not only is it easier, it allows the wheel to fully "seat" onto the bearing, you could also put a tiny dab of lithium grease or silicone lube on the bearing edge, if they're too stiff...

Yeah, these rep wheels from eBay aren't that great. I have the tool to put them on, just didn't use it.

Great work! Hey, by any chance would you know where can I take a couple of Corgi toys cars to get restored? Im in Mexico city and these were my dads when he was a kid. They mean a lot to me. Thanks a lot and again congrats and keep up the great work!

There is a guy on KZbin named Ryan little and he has good music instrumentals for free. Maybe you should look into that and keep using it the music kinda breaks it up.

My opinion, this one is better than the blue car. By the way, please pick a different music next time. I felt like I was riding an elevator the whole time 😂
