Hi Paul... I've been using these paints from the redline shop for over 2 decades...I saw your warning that you posted about respirator use and I want to tell you that it's not a recommendation....it's extremely critical that you avoid breathing in these vapors...when mixing, painting and afterwards ...or you will cough like a m.... f.... for a week or 2 I paint outdoors only, in a spray booth, with a respirator and goggles, mix the paint outdoors using the same protection too....I know several people who ignored this and got sick, Austin from die-cast resurrection posted a full page warning on his page then switched to createx paints....I still use and would recommend these paints but proper respiratory safety is critical. Cheers!

I plan on trying these on one of my model car projects. You can spray Createx paint through a .3 nozzle airbrush, and I spray it with a .25 nozzle all the time. Just thin it with their 4011 or a compatible airbrush thinner.

Haven't seen anyone else mention this Paul, so my arithmetic is maybe off: 𝟐𝒎𝒍 of paint to 𝟎.𝟓𝒎𝒍 of hardener is 𝟒:𝟏, not 𝟓:𝟏 - could make all the difference.😁

This is the amount of drops that come out of the pipette. You’re probably correct but I’ve been using this mixture for over two years and it works super. The measurements are approximate and the correct mixture is on the bottle which I mention. Very valid point Sir.

Awesome job! Do you recommend painting the underside of the car when restoring a redline?
@DiecastGraveyard Жыл бұрын
If the other side of the car is painted, then yes by all means repaint it. If it is not Payne at all you should have to do is polish it and then maybe put a coat of renaissance wax on it so it doesn’t tarnish anymore. Really good question brother thank you

So if you wait 15 minutes between coats. Do you run out of paint before it becomes unsprayable? Or is the pot life long enough to use it all up with the amounts you mix?
@DiecastGraveyard3 жыл бұрын
There is a pot life as you say of approximately two hours. The amount I showed you how to mix is approximately good for one whole car now if you’re using more than one color then you can mix half the amount etc. That was an excellent question brother thank you so much.

Got a question for you do u have any videos on using nitroflame paint or how u would mix them. Also is it possible to repaint the plastic wheels from monoblock wheels with spectraflame and if so is it the same mix. Thank you for the vids
@DiecastGraveyard3 жыл бұрын
Nitro flame paint is mixed 50/50 with reducer and the the proper amount of Activator-Hardner. To paint the wheels, I would use a silver base and then paint with whatever SpectraFlame color you wish. It’s the same mix. I prefer SpectraFlame because there is no mixing with reducer it’s already reduced. Which means one less step and it’s pretty much wants mixed with the activator Hardner is ready to go.

So I am trying to get the olive to turn out like the flying tiger gasser and can't get it to turn out. It keeps on coming out with to much yellow color. I've tried the base coat, tried reducing it, tired polished casting and all attempts have failed to get this color correct. Could it be a miss mixed bottle of paint? Any advice?

Mist coats. The keep applying coats til you get the desired color.

@@DiecastGraveyard thanks I'll have to get another bottle and try again that's how many times I have tired this one and just can't get it to where I want it to be. What about a medium temperature reducer mixed in that paint. Had a guy on FB tell me 1:1 ratio. I tired that with the redline reducer but I'm thinking they are not the same thing.

I meant to comment days ago. I'm about to buy some Spectraflame Paint but I'm toying with Redline Shop or Brightvision. Have you worked with them?
@DiecastGraveyard3 жыл бұрын
I work with both of them. They’re both good products, I prefer the redline shop product because you don’t have to cut it with reducer to use it and you have to do that with the Brightvision and Product

What psi setting do you use?
@DiecastGraveyard6 ай бұрын
25-30 psi. The more pressure, the more paint you’ll use.
@chrisdeverso59423 жыл бұрын
At what psi are you spraying at please ?
@DiecastGraveyard3 жыл бұрын
Are usually spray at 25 psi. Just remember the higher the psi that you use the more paint you’re blowing through the gun. Now the SpectraFlame paint is thin so you could probably get away with using 20 psi. Experiment with it and find out what’s best for you.
