@@Eassstt yeah, other people know more about this than I do but the KZbin algorithm keeps videos out of people’s feeds based on words in the titles. Two I’ve heard about are “Covid” and “gay”. I don’t know about “blood” specifically but wouldn’t be surprised

Seriously, how do you do this? You pack together hard social and emotional themes with tech, music, hard work, and out comes a great song, and in between the terror and hard stuff you talk about, there is always some really quirky and funny moments, without dampening the impact of the main theme? Really, i don´t know a single other person that does this kind of content/music/politicalstatement/actionism/love thing. Please keep it up, you are so important in doing this. We can only act and hope and educate.

I absolutely love your collaboration with Aran - what a fucking amazing and MEATY track. This channel SCREAMs and it comes with a solid punch in the face. Dude, you're on another level, keep expressing yourself, keep sticking it to the hate and fear mongers and keep powering through those inevitable difficult days. If you're getting a reputation of being "too political", then that is excellent. Most other SynthTube channels are getting a reputation of being boring with nothing actually important to say (IMO - I stopped watching most of them some time ago). Music is an expression and SHOULD provoke thought and deep emotional response - mission accomplished ✊❤

I think this video finally helped me figure out why, as a weirdo cishet white man, I've always felt more at home among queer communities. It's the fear. I've always known (and had pride) in being weird, but I didn't realize until recently (i'm in my early 40s) that I'm autistic, so that always felt like a part of it, a common weirdness. But this kinda completed the picture. The bullying, ostracization, loneliness, confusion. As a kid I wasn't gay but I also couldn't understand why anyone thought that was relevant and I made no attempt to assert my heteronormativity, and so I was bullied for being gay, or weird, or when not bullied just... excluded. Among queer people I am celebrated for being more than just the meat I was prescribed. Excuse the overly on-the-nose wording here, but the rainbow of self expression that's inside me that's always been bursting out is welcomed and encouraged and how I'm built and who I prefer have no bearing on how and who I'm allowed to be; because we all know the fear of growing up being told we couldn't
@1981jasonkwan5 ай бұрын
Well said. I am in a similar situation - finding out I am autistic in my 40s. Not sure I ever felt at home with anyone if I am honest, until in recent years I have tried to care less what others think of me. Bullying probably forced me into that trap in the first place but now I am free of it.

Totally true, and all the more worth saying because we (age 49 here, diagnosed 2 years ago) are largely being represented in the public eye by autistic men who feel no such kinship. Damn... I need to make more art and it needs to get more political. Shit that's inconvenient

A common thread throughout my life, through my transition, and my disability journey, has been "courage and bravery aren't an absence of fear, they are facets of a person who does things despite the fear they feel" And that is different for everyone in different scenarios. Sometimes that's "not dying" sometimes thats "running into a burning building". Each act is brave and courageous, the same person may do both in their life time, but their response to the fear may be different each time

I'm glad this video was in my algorithm today. Seeing your salient takes on fear in general, fear about creating music, and fear directed at gay and queer people all interwoven with an inner monologue of creating elements of a track really connected with me. Even when we manage to not feel fear for our immediate safety, fear still manages to sift down into the rest of our thoughts and feelings and can rob us of the smallest moments of peace and joy. Seeing that common experience play out as you assemble small triumphs into a song that encourages and uplifts really did offer respite so thank you for that. I hope lots of other people can watch this and get that same experience.

And then note that how anything that we do in return, as victims, suddenly makes us "intolerant" and fair game (as if we weren't already considered fair game by our oppressors). We didn't cast the first stone. Arm the LBGTQ+. Learn self defence. Organise. 10/10 song. Love the "Do you feel safe up there? In your pretty house on the hill?" bit and "You ain't scared enough." drop! ❤🔥

I found out about the 1920 song Das Lila Lied today: ""Round us all up, send us away that's what you'd really like to do But we're too strong, proud, unafraid in fact we almost pity you You act from fear, why should that be What is it that you are frightened of The way that we dress The way that we meet The fact that you cannot destroy our love We're going to win our rights to lavender days and nights" 1920. Ok, first off, the track is amazing. Second off, thank you for dissuading me from buying an OP-1. As for why they aren't more scared, it's because they know we're less likely to resort to violence; we just don't believe in it in the way they do. The oppressed are historically nonviolent because they don't want to inflict on others what was inflicted on them. It's easy to use violent rhetoric when you know the other side won't punch back -- but punching back is something we're loathe to do, *and we are right for not wanting to do so*. So, yes, they should be more scared of us in the way we're scared of them -- but how we get to that point, I really don't know.
