Wind controllers are the coolest things in the synth world that no one talks about. Thanks for featuring them, Jeremy! (I may be biased, as I play a NuRAD). 😁
@unclemick-synths Жыл бұрын
That is so true. I think it's because they're mostly marketed to jazzers (particularly Brecker fans) or saxophonists wanting silent practice or doubling the sounds of other instruments. There is an untapped market of people like myself who are fans of conventional synth music but not necessarily keyboard players. I think of all the people who took saxophone in high school and don't realize that they can easily pick up an Aerophone and play their synths! I've predominantly played my Behringer Neutron because the CV conversion is perfect for the AE-30 - the pitch bend has smooth transitions between up and down (essential for the bite), and the legato is handled properly. The AE-30 is perfect for modular because the thumbpad, elevation, and tilt CCs can be converted to CV to give the equivalent of the live tweaking you'd do if you didn't have both hands on the Aerophone. I have some videos on my channel.
@bodhibeats8257 Жыл бұрын
@@unclemick-synths BTW, the Aerophones are great! I prefer the touch-sensitive style keys of the EWI and NuRAD, but the Aerophone’s built-in ZenCore makes me jealous for sure. All of these instruments make great controllers, but the Roland’s definitely win on built-in synths. FWIW, the NuRAD has CV out for breath built-in! 😁
@unclemick-synths Жыл бұрын
@@bodhibeats8257 the problem with the AE-30 is figuring out how to program the ZEN Core (the SuperNatural sound engine is of no interest to me). After a couple of years just using it just as a controller, I am now doing a thorough investigation of the ZEN Core engine to try to get as good sounds out of it as I can get from my Neutron.
@bodhibeats8257 Жыл бұрын
@@unclemick-synths Yeah ZenCore is deep and complex for sure! Sounds awesome, but a whole lot to learn! I also have a Neutron that I use with wind controllers. It’s great! 😁

Hello, thank you very much for your video. I need help to configure the elektron analog rhytm mk2 to synchronize the tempo of the 960 sequential behringer eurorack. Let me explain, I want the master tempo of the elektron so I use the elektron midi output to the CM1A cv midi convert midi input. On the CM1A, a plug trig cable to shift the 960 sequencer but it doesn't work... My sequence on the 960 sequencer doesn't change when I move the tempo on the Elektron. Thanks in advance.

Maybe it's a bit late to ask for it but how about a video on the SOMA Pulsar-23? I feel like this machine would fit your vibe and general approach to music (I find it really aspiring, creative and unconventional) really freakin' good. Anyways, keep up the good work! Been enjoying every video so far.. Much love from Germany!
@skelly790 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, that would be good. idk about the Pulsar, but the Lyra is like the opposite of the Digi in its approach to making music. You could convert the Digi's midi to CV and plug that into the back of the Lyra, but it wouldn't pay much attention. But then it doesn't pay much attention to anything, unless you bash it around the head with a giant sidechain. Made from real chains. But the Pulsar might be slightly more docile.

I skipped straight to 18:19 because I have the AE-30. Does this converter handle legato playing properly? Does pitch bend transition smoothly between pitch up and pitch down (essential for the bite control)? I'm looking for a separate Eurorack converter but it has to be as good as the Behringer Neutron's converter which suits the AE-30 perfectly but comes with the rest of the Neutron attached whether I need it or not 😀. None of my other converters handle legato and they have dead-spots in the middle of the pitch bend which interferes badly with the conversion of the bite sensor. I use a Space Brains Circuits MidiVolts to convert the AE-30’s thumbpad, elevation, and tilt to CV. The CC to CV conversion really opens up the possibilities for controlling VCF cutoff, resonance, LFO depth, etc.

@RedMeansRecording Жыл бұрын

@unclemick-synths Жыл бұрын
I don't have the AE-10 but looking at the manual it doesn't have 5-pin DIN so you'd have to go via a computer or try to find a compatible USB to MIDI converter (apparently some work better than others). The AE-30 works really well with modular - the breath, bite, thumbpad, elevation, and tilt give so much control and are easy to set up.
