I hate to break this to you, but all legacy skins go on sale at various periods. It was quite a long time ago now that they replaced the 'limited edition' format (where a skin is available for a small amount of time, then never again) with the legacy system, that makes old skins rarer, but still lets new players sometimes buy them. Now if you have what used to be the 'limited edition' version of a legacy skin, it just has a special marking on it, to show you have one of the original copies of the skin. ...so none of those legacy skins you were happy about are anywhere near as rare as you think they are.
