TM Heretic Verethragna i agree. Mid range chipset phones do not flex that much in benchmarks so they conserve more battery. IOS is on a different level in battery usage in its operating system. The MI 9T pro has a really good battery. Anyways, the champ is still a xiaomi phone.

Tell me why it should be 60hz because the only reason you'd buy this phone is for the 120hz so it's pointless. I mean he doesn't want to waste 2 days just to find out how it would hold up on 60hz
@Halasir5 жыл бұрын
@@kylechoy2402 Good point. 120hz is a key selling feature of the phone, and I suspect that going back to the 60hz mode is going to feel obsolete when a user can pick the 120hz mode instead. Therefore, 120hz becomes the user's "normal" experience of the phone, which is the reason the Redmi K30 is tested at 120hz in this drain test, and is also the reason it is criticized for having the worst battery life.

@Halasir5 жыл бұрын
Hi Frankie, why did the 60 hz 4200 mAh Honor V30 only do marginally better (12 minutes longer) than the 120 hz 4500 mAh Redmi K30? The 300 mAh difference is too negligible to be the explanation, and unless the Honor V30 has particularly bad battery life for a 60 hz IPS LCD phone, doesn't this mean that the Redmi K30 actually did pretty well (in comparison) for a 120 hz IPS LCD phone?
@FrankieTech5 жыл бұрын
I think the Redmi K30 probably would have done better by an extra hour than what it did at 120 Hz. That said I think the LCD display is to blame here and it still would not had surpassed any of the other AMOLED phones (maybe Pixel 4 XL). This really proves to me, LCD needs to go bye bye.
@Halasir5 жыл бұрын
@@FrankieTech Thanks very much for your reply Frankie. Do you believe AMOLED is truly better than IPS LCD in every way? I keep reading that AMOLED is more pixelated (less sharp) due to the shared-sub-pixel PenTile layout, and has issues with tinting/clouding/burn-in/uneven colours across the screen, as some pixels are used more than others, so the (emmisive) pixels wear out at different rates. Are none of these actual real-world issues in your experience, even when using an AMOLED device for 2 years plus?
@leechoonfai46315 жыл бұрын
Why not do the test in around 100-200 nits brightness which is way more practical? Backlit LCD known to lose efficiency when at or near it's highest brightness settings? Not everyone will use the screen at 400 nits all the time. The test may take much longer time but you can use more task intensive apps to conduct the test

One funny/different suggestion - could you include in your future battery drain tests a couple of hours of "not using" the phone to simulate over night drainage with eg. twitter/whatsapp/facebook/mail or similar social network clients/email clients checking for updates in the background? I wonder if Xiaomi fixed the old but recurring issue of many of its phones where they could lose even 10% of battery life per hour just lying on your desk with a few of those social network clients/apps left... Though in such a case, your battery test would have to be extended to well over those couple of hours. Maybe with such a use-case added the battery dying order would be somewhat different...

I'm currently having a tough time on deciding which to buy.. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro versus Mi 9T Pro.. I know the specs of both SD 855 on the 9T Pro & a SD 730 one on the Note 10 Pro the one provides better performance meanwhile the other consumes less battery power that's clear! To be honest I was really into getting the Mi 9T Pro.. But after seing the camera zoom capabilities and battery life of the Note 10 Pro I'm kinda leaning towards this phone! SD 730 should be enough even for some decent flagship chipset type of gaming experience! My only problem is the kinda leaning part I'm not sure because in some other video reviews and drain tests the Note 10 Pro somehow didn't reached not even the 9 or 10 hours mark at all.. In fact it was some horrible times 5 & a half 6 or 7 hours.. Which is far far away from the 12 hours mark of your heavy drain test!! Battery life is important to me! So I'm honestly asking now will I receive with Mi Note 10 Pro a phone with a Godzilla long lasting battery if I calculate your test in average daily use the phone with a full charge should last easily 3 days and beyond!! I am lucky enough to get a variant like that or will it be a deficient one losing battery even if I look at it in rest mode.. I'm concerned and would really like some advice! 🤔🤔🤔

You should wait and see how the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro turns out, it will likely be the best of both worlds! For me I'm all about the Mi 9T Pro! That’s a shocking disappointment, I was expecting it to be closer to mi9tpro, I assume the unit is on 120 hz screen?

Based on your video, i can assume my mi9t@k20 possibly have same level as 11 pro..quite good for a midrange phone with full hd amoled screen

K20 pro is better choice for midrange phone in term of battery performance and processor. Not regreting buying this phone considered my budget.

Mi note 10 pro battery 5260mah capacity is to be expected but impressive for iphone 11 pro max with its battery 3969mah capacity to reach as 2nd place compare to others who have much higher capacity than it. Notice it?!! But mi 9t pro amazing!! Its not the latest among them but still fighting!!

Dude everyone out here saying Redmi K30 is bad but you’re forgetting he is using 120hz mode so this test isn’t balanced if you don’t believe me check the comments

Mi 9T Pro keeps on being the best valued battery in the higher echelon of the smartphone market. you can buy three of those instead of one iPhone, and the Mi Note 10 is an absolute brick with an inferior chipset (more expensive as well).

Let me assume, that Pixel was on variable refresh rate and K30 was on 120 all the time, which is unfair.
@FrankieTech5 жыл бұрын
Nope, the Pixel 4 XL was on forced 90 Hz refresh, which is the only way I use it. K30 was on 120 Hz, because what’s the point of testing it any other way?

@@FrankieTech Yes i totally agree with you bro, because was it actually marketed for the 120 HZ, so it should be test on it

For me Iwould still buy K30. The best criteria for a good battery is that it could last a whole day without recharging. Clearly K30 passed that test with its 6 hours screen time and remember the result is from an extreme drain test but if you will use k30 in an average daily use it will do alot more. You also have to consider that k30 is in 120hz that drain more battery, yes 120hz is the key feature of this device but for me it is intended for gaming purposes so if you will gonna use your phone not for gaming, better set it in 60hz that can be toggle in the settings menu and it could save you more battery. So why I need a phone that saves more battery but In the end of the day you will still tend to recharge it when you came home whether you have extra juice from your battery or not? All I need is a battery that can last a day even if it is a LCD or Amoled screen. On top of that the biggest things you have to consider is the price. All off the phone included in this test are way to expensive because of their Amoled displays and other features comparing it to K30 . So I don't have any reasons not to buy K30 for its very good specs considering for its low price.
