I have a redmi note 4X Cons: wifi slow with Bluetooth device connected (don't have a 5 ghz wifi router) After I submerged it in water for a few seconds, tilt controls won't work :(. Used a app and it fixed it however only for half a hour

In India the pro is a huge hit, but I hope it soon releases internationally so that more people can get an idea of how a brand can make a good smartphone for less money and how other brands are screwing us by releasing expensive phones with similar features to the pro. Srsly this phone is a measuring bar for all mid range smartphones and I hope other brands learn from Xiaomi for they have truely created a masterpiece.

You forgot one small detail. The SD636 is as powerful as the SD820 flagship chipset. The Chinese version of the RN5 Pro is also way better than the Indian version at almost the same prices since it has fast charging and a better camera.

Shin Chan yeppp. Can play lots of games on decent settings. Here's how stuff goes: Snapdragon 4xx = Low end, basic stuff and light gaming, 6xx, mid range, good enough for gaming but wont run everything nicely, 8xx, most powerful and best for gamjnng

Had a Redmi Note 4 for just over a year now and there is no sign of it slowing down and zero problems. Most other phones in a similar price range, only last me about 12 months, if not less.

Rohit Kataria I am currently using Pixel Experience, I got the 2GB model and MIUI just gobbled all my free RAM, this one strike a nice balance of good RAM usage and clean Pixel-like experience, the battery life is only okay though. not bad, but not amazingly good too

Hi you review is good. And happy that you are mentioning a lot about my country India. But that Camera Beast word which you coined, I am hearing it for the first time. Yes, as you said it right any good camera phone can live upto that. But at this price range (as you said very less asking just about ₹16,999 for 6Gig variant, and ₹14,999 for 4Gig variant) no other phone in this world offers such a decent camera. Keep doing many many reviews on all Xiaomi devices. We Indians love this brand.

I have redmi 5 plus and Samsung s9. Not worth paying over £400 more for Samsung S9 in my opinion for for what I need and use. Redmi 5 plus is great.

Still end of 2019 and I'm happy with this device installing a custom rom and rooting it's worth the risk if you know how to do plus you can put gcam in there and it's a lot better than stock mi camera Props to your review very honest and straight

@8:10 Nah, it is removing features and call it progress vs actual progress and benefit for the consumer. Removing the headphone jack by Apple was not a decision made with the best interest of the consumer in mind. It resulted in expensive dongles due to patent fees manufacturer have to pay for accessories for the lightening port. On the other hand, Letv removed the headphone jack too but provided the type-C dongle free of charge with the only downside of inconvenience and potentially losing the dongle.

The first phone is not Redmi Note 5, it's Redmi 5 Plus. Redmi Note 5 is a Chinese version of Redmi Note 5 Pro, which is Indian. It's already confusing enough, no need to confuse the viewers even more.

The only thing that got me excited here is the UI Goku Fight with Jiren. There is not a single feature here that actually works properly and the cheap price tag is not justified simply because of that. Just slightly more expensive devices can deliver much for it's price.

Just got the 6gb 64gb black variant for 16999 INR. Pretty satisfied with the performance and battery life. The reason I went for the 6gb instead of 4gb, ram management is lot better with 6gb using MiUI. I can easily run 20-30 apps (med-heavy) in background without any of them reloading while switching in beween (multitasking). Previously I have used the Note 3 & 4 which were the best value for money smartphones 1-2 years ago. Same thing this time around. Really happy with the overall package. Great cameras, beautiful large 6 inch display, Powerful & efficient processor, (impressive battery life (9-10 hrs sot) & regular MiUI updates (sad its still on nougat though).. Only cons are- no type c, no 4k, no stock android (i prefer miui), hybrid slot, no fast charger bundled, unavailability (stupid flash sales). Just got to wait few weeks for official custom roms. :)

It just makes a lot confussion. Some told me that in india the Redmi 5 name is already used so they decided to name it Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro which are in another country they called Redmi 5 and Redmi Note 5 respectively. But some reviewer say that there are few differences between India's Note 5 Pro and original Note 5. That's why lot of people thinks the Chinese's Note 5 is better.

My two year old MI5 will get android Oreo soon. Xiaomi supports their phones with uodates for up two 5 years, even the cheap ones. Thats why MIUI is so great.

Thats a winner if you thought the phone was 400 quid!!!! If visually that phone shoots higher than its actual price, its great news. I personally have been using Mi3 for last 3 years and its been one super sweet phone. Still gets regular Updates and has not slowed down a bit. For me, the OS and the hardware just make it compelling to have. I love the MIUI and its many common sense small additions. Makes using the phone a breeze. Nice Review.

I've always been flag ship user previously galaxys4 then htc one m9 but battery life sucks i've seen redmi users playing asphalt 8 when only on 8% battery which make me go WtF. and no matter what phone you buy you get updates for only 2 years so it's good to have this decent use and throw away every year phone. this device has the Snapdragon 636 which is enough for running every game on the play store. some jitters can be observed but they are not that noticeable. it has kryo cores which are found on flagship chipsets and is based on 14-nanometre tech that is power efficient . also ram management is great
