I believe that's exactly the reason Xiaomi created this phone... for the people they don't have the extra bucks and from this point of view, that's an excellent phone. Also, the phones you're mentioning you can buy with "extra bucks" are about 50% more expensive. That's not exactly the definition of "extra bucks" Fault #2: Not everyone is playing games on the smartphone and have multiple social media apps installed. There are many people out there, using just a handful of apps for everyday tasks, like email, to-do, GPS, bank transactions, taxi services, news reading, taking a couple of photos and/or videos etc. For those people, this phone is just... overqualified. Fault #3: Every "reviewer" forgets that a smartphone is mainly... a phone. Ok, it's good for some people to know how well behaves on some games and how many hours you can watch a KZbin video but I can't find decent reviews for: - how good the phone's signal strength is - how good the WiFi reception is - how fast the GPS is ...because what's the reason to have a 200ms faster face/fingerprint unlock when I have to move all over the place to find a decent phone signal and the GPS needs half a minute to show my position 100m shifted!!

Honey actually they did. There are few differences between RN6 pro and RN5, which one of them was a triple slot, dual sim with micro sd available.

Miera thanks for pointing that out. However, if you watched the video, at 4:14, he shows the Redmi NOTE 6 Pro as having a hybrid dual sim card slot. I think you may be referring instead to the the Redmi 6 pro (or the Mi A2 lite in some markets), which is another redmi phone with a notch but has a dedicated micro SD slot and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and no dual selfie camera.

What a bummer this, crap that, I guess you didn't know the point of Redmi Note series. They are for who want a big screen phone with less money that you can buy. Over the years, the prices has been going up since Redmi Note 3G (first Redmi Note that I own), now the cost increasing a bit by bit but you get overall better specs, like screen, battery, material used.. If you don't want any "bummer" or "crap", just buy the Mi series or Pocophone, just don't buy this.. or you could just make your own phone.

Xiaomi makes practically no profit from its phones but still pays for stock. My take on the excess models of phones with the same SOC is to clear backed up stocks of 363 chips by making the selling point design. Xiaomi phones are used for advertising for their brand, so the internal specs are unimportant compared to getting their brand name out to the wider audience and the wider audience are the tech unsavy who don't know or care about the tech but are drawn to the design. This is why your average joe will buy an honour play over a poco f1. This to me, is a cleaver move by xiaomi, killing two birds with one stone.
