I have some of the full size dungeon kits from Archon. They are easy to put together paint by spraying, shading and highlighting. Highly recommended my war games group does not use any other dungeon kits now. It is possible to build multi levels as well. The pieces are light and strong. We tend to glue small sections together and join together for dungeon layouts. They do sci-fi terrain as well.

Sponsored content makes it possible for me to continue doing what I do, but I'm glad you found this interesting. I'm very picky about sponsored content. I turn down collaborations almost every week for everything from video games and software to Kickstarters and lifestyle accessories, because I will only run sponsored content if it's something that interests me and that I think my viewers will be interested in too.

@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring Ah btw i used your Zombieformula for cursed city and they look great. I managed to paint all 10 in 6 hours, which is pretty fast for me. I would love more painting tutorials like that! And i was wondering if you ever thought about about making your own discord server for your community? A small befriended streamer did that and its pretty cool.

Glad you liked the painting guide. If you want more like that, then I have a playlist called 10 Paints or Less. Also, many of the videos in my Tabletop Painting Guides playlist are intended to keep things quick and easy. Hopefully there will be some more videos there that would interest you.

No doubt that it looks impressive, especially when painted. And I did have a peek at their site, and there is only the 2 sets available right now. I suspect that if they gain enough traction, then additional sets will come to fruition. If there was one criticism, it would be that the Dwarven Mine only has two floor types, both with "pooled water" texture; it might have been better if there was a variation without the water texture. I saw the paint example where the water wasn't painted "wet", but it was still quite obvious from the texture what was anticipated. The ½ height walls is definitely a good implementation. I've seen postings of HQ with full height walls, and the figures jostling each other for space…
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring2 жыл бұрын
There are more than two sets, but only two at the moment with half height walls. They are currently fulfilling their most recent Kickstarter which has more sets again, and a lot of that should end up at retail too.

5E compatible terrain.......wow how did they pull that off?
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring2 жыл бұрын
It means the scale of the terrain matches up with official D&D accessories and miniatures - it's all based around a 1-inch grid.

Love the doors. Wish he ones in my AHQ set were so sturdy. Most of them snapped the first time I tried assembling them due to the age of the plastic. AFAICT there isn't a good way to restore them to "working" state, to say nothing of original state. These are much sturdier seeming!
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring2 жыл бұрын
It's funny you should mention the Advanced HeroQuest doors, because I did go off on a ramble about them when I was recording this video, and talked about how much better these ones are, but I cut it all out when I was editing because it didn't really add anything to the review. But, long story short, I absolutely agree. I have been trying to think of a way to repair AHQ doors. I thought there might be something to be done with magnets, so you could just attach them to the frame, and then remove them from the frame when they are open.
@knghtbrd2 жыл бұрын
(I have a tab open to your AHQ restoration which I started a restoration on that but haven't finished it yet, so I don't know if you had any broken door hinges or what your solution to them is, if any.)
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring2 жыл бұрын
I have managed to luck out with doors - every single one I have from two sets is fine. However, I am well aware that they snap when you look at them too hard, so I am expecting them to break eventually. Because of that, a solution is something I am rolling around my brain.
@knghtbrd2 жыл бұрын
@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring I've wondered about that. It might be hard to add them in good way, but if you come up with a solution I'll love to see it!
@johnmiddleton42912 жыл бұрын
The Mighty Fortress includes the same doors but in that case it's best to just glue them in place, since they can't really open into anything. Well, unless you like stuff miniatures into tiny holes like a lego dude in a vehicle.
