I really like your videos! I'm just finding out about Desmos. I have been a middle school math teacher for a long time. I have been absorbing as much as I can in the last two weeks. Equatio got me into looking at Desmos. I can't wait for more videos on Desmos. I have two questions. Where can I find files on just the Desmos Graphing Calculator? Not the activities in Amplify. For example, I found a file graphing the this person can do the job in 1/5 of an hour and the other person can do the job in 1/4 of an hour, then how long would it take to complete the job together.It was a simple short file on graphing the 3 equations. I'm looking for more short brief stuff. 2) What equation editor do you use for your Google Docs or Word documents? My school district doesn't have a LMS like Canvas. So, no built in equation editor.

Hi Robert! I'm so glad you found my channel, too. Great questions. #1) Desmos has classroom activities separate from Amplify. Log in to teacher.desmos.com/ and start browsing their Featured Collections. Look for the activities from Desmos Classroom (you'll see some from Amplify there, too). #2) My college does have Math Type for Word, but you can also use the built-in equation editor, which is what I typically use, in both Word and Google Docs. For both, go to Insert > Equation. And let me know if there are certain topics you'd like to see as a video. I'm always looking for new ideas!

I 've experienced that the indication of coordinates e.g. A(1,2) disappears suddenly as I try to save my graph, although the coordinate-setting and the actual graph remains as planned. Is this normal or have I done something wrong?
@AngieTeaches8 ай бұрын
You've done nothing wrong. The coordinates will stay on the graph only temporarily, assuming you mean the notation like (3,2). You can double-click on a point on the graph to get it to stay visible while you're working on the graph. But it will go away as you work on other things in Desmos. Thanks for the question!

What's about exponential ? I can't find it.

Great question. Use the ^ to put an exponent next to a value (shift 6 on your keyboard).

how about fractions? i don't know how
@AngieTeaches2 ай бұрын
Great video idea!! Use the slash key / to create a fraction (with ? On your keyboard). If a decimal answer can be converted to a fraction, Desmos will show a fraction icon on the left side of the cell. Clicking this will convert the decimal answer to a fraction. Thanks for asking!!

Can Desmos graph the equation of time? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equation_of_time#cite_note-6

It may be beyond its capability, but a fun challenge to experiment with!
