I love the scenes/backgrounds of London in this film. Beautiful.

Definitely one of my favourite Disney films when I was little other than Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid. I remember having a 101 Dalmations-themed birthday party when I was about 3 or 4 years old. The party hats looked like Dalmation puppy heads made of coloured cardboard and I think there were also paper plates and cups that looked like they had Dalmation spots on them. It was really cute! How I miss those times! Being a little kid that grew up in the 90's was seriously the bomb f

*Interesting fact:* Dodie Smith, the author of the book *The Hundred and One Dalmatians* secretly hoped that Walt would buy the rights to make a film version of her book.

One of the best Disney films I think - even with the style so different from the others.

It's interesting that this movie was made in this style due to necessity. In Walt Disney's biography, it's talked about how this was the first movie where the artists were actually seeing 'their' drawings on screen, since nothing was "cleaned up" (as they put it) or gone over in ink by other people, which was the way the animation process usually went. They had to make an exception for this film. That's why the animation looks sketch-like or "fuzzy", as a person below me put it. Interesting!

I really love the technique of how it all was drawn. It doesn't look clean ink but you know, like kinda "fuzzy" "furry", don't know better way to describe it. I like that a lot. Gives this animation a whole different style. And this movie is also one of my favs in my collection.

the 1996 live action version was one of the first films I remember seeing in the cinema! Loved it, and the original, to this day! I'm always tied when I try to think of my top 3 favourite Disney animations but I think Dalmatians comes out on top. Ties with Lady & the Tramp and Lion King coming a close second.

Fun fact: This was one of Akira Toriyama's major influences that led him into being an artist. And if you don't know, Akira Toriyama is the creator of the famous anime/manga series Dragon Ball :D

je la trouve géniale cruella de vil !!!!
@canijusthavejolie12 жыл бұрын
The reason they made an exception for this film (and for certain films after it) is that to continue in their regular animation style would have been an impossibility. For inkers and painters to have to tediously go over every spot on the dalmations with ink would have taken far too much time and slowed down production. It didn't make any sense at all to do their previous, traditional way of animating their characters.
