Ahh, that's why, I was barefooted when I was fixing my AC, it didn't hurt, but it got me paranoid. 220 volts ain't good.

While dangerous. It’s also very informative and more information like this would be much more valuable than less like we currently get.

I hope you still read comments but I was curious about something. So we had a MASSIVE downpour a few days ago and I was at my parents place with a pool, had to get a pump on the cover bc it filled up a 40x16ft pool cover up fast. I was going to plug it into the extension cord and it was obviously wet and rain was coming down in sheets. I plugged it in and immediately vibrated and it took a half second or so to throw the cord down. “Hurt” like all hell but pain stopped immediately after, maybe bc of adrenaline. But I’ve played with shock pens, and old kids/adult circuit toys and shocked myself but that shit was different how it got my whole body for a second, I was not wearing any runner obviously. How much voltage/current/etc. (I don’t n fully grasp their differences quite yet) did I get hit with from a standard 2024 grid system?

What if you're barefoot, but you're standing on a wooden floor?
@LykeArgy6 ай бұрын
you get shocked most likely, tha floor still could have metal particles in it, it could have high moisture, it could be very thin and still arc
@ThatOneGuy-jd3jn7 ай бұрын
Great video thank you

You would think on a wood floor you wouldn't get shocked bare footed. Maybe moisture, i donno.

Im an industrial electrician, so majority of the shit I work on HAS to be hot. An entire office building isn't going to halt everything just because I'm too chicken shit to mess with a hot wire, yknow? Anyway. A couple years, I was in a backroom of this place called the florence civic center, back when I lived in SC. All lighting circuits were high voltage, due to the copious amount of florescent lights in the facility, meaning their either 240 or 277 volts. And lemme tell ya, I've got bit a couple times due to naiveté. And it. Fucking. Hurts. To anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of feeling it yet, it pretty much feels like a jackhammer is going off in your chest.

@gillybob; totally understand. I did a service on a drier and was checking voltage across both legs of 120 and the probe slipped off the terminal but my knuckle didn't. My cheek was resting on the chassis. When it finally let me go, it took me about 15 minutes to stand back up after the fireworks display ended. Dizziness and chest pains took me to a doctor. They tried 4 times to "restart" normal heart rhythm. I earned a permanent arrhythmia and couldn't work on service calls afterwards. That was 30 years ago. After 2 years of "customer relations" (read desk job) I took disability and retired. Always wanted to retire while I was still young. Shit!, not that way though....

Happened to my buddy while I was in the room. I didn't even get hit and that 240 sounded like a flashback. My ears were ringing for a solid 3 minutes.
