Today I tackle the problem of burnt out bulbs in the JK Wrangler Climate Control - 2007 thru 2010. I find the 55111874AC controller from other models is the same as the 055111840AE Wrangler.

Learning to use a soldering iron all those years ago has come in handy through the years. Unfortunately, failing eye sight now limits what I’m able to do. Nice job with this repair.

I hear ya. It takes some years to become handy enough to do just about anything and then almost instantly the eyes and old bones start to fail :). I've found the Optivisor fixes the eyesight problems --> I use them a good bit doing guitar repair work. If you haven't tried them, you aught to.

Honestly I'm thinking the whole JK line is just a grab from the bin jeep...The dash you fixed and the bin parts from all over,.. Motor: 3.8 L from a minivan,.. then they switched to the Pentastar AFTER it had proven itself in other models... Axels: OMG dont even get me started on the garbage they call a front axle on those things,.. Axel tubes bend at the pumpkin with even the mildest off roading,..everyone "fix" get a truss...eff that get bigger axels and forget that garbage underneath (it actually costs more to fully upgrade the stock one than a heavier duty one),.. Lockers (your choice, air, electric, lunchbox, whatever works for you) While your at it trash the stock suspension (rubicon model is ok as it's got a small lift) something big enough to throw 37s underneath and you'll be able to go almost anyplace. rocksliders, belly plates, and body armor, to keep from tearing up that long a$$ 4 door,. oh and bumpers cause the approach angles suck ballz with a stock front bumper... Oh and a 12k winch, cause you know your going to need to pull yourself out of some garbage you got yourself into... I've worked on more JK's than TJ, YJ, CJ, combined and while I like them because you can do so much to them I still would take a TJ over one any day of the week...In fact I have lol...a 4.0 TJ Sahara and a 47 willy's CJ with a 3.8 chevy and a ton of goodies on it.

I paid $9K for the Jeep with 61k on the odometer and probably have 2500 in parts and materials - Labor is not a factor so I came out well

What’s this? Electronics porn? (Yes I did flag the porn link to KZbin overlords). You know those aftermarket auxiliary switches you can buy to install above the lighter outlet on a TJ? Well the led lights on those switches burn out after about 10 minutes. You’re inspiring me to get some quality leds and dig in and replace them… Quality is no longer job 1…. Good work. You can go work for NASA if you ever get tired of the locksmithing biz. 😁

The bulbs just eventually burn out. The yota will be after the TJ paint - the plan is to take it over to the shop

Thanks for the Video and the great information on alternate part numbers. Are the LED's able to dim and adjust, along with the other dash lights, the same as the original incandescent or do they just have one brightness after this? Cheers!

They do dim - probably not as much as the incandescent tho :)
