You can play the game right now with DMM's Game Player (PC Client) and by following the instructions on this link: gametora.com/umamusume/dmm-guide Gametora is this game's giant English wiki and provides a lot of both translated info, and guides for the game. It's pretty dense but I'd be happy to break down anything people have questions about like how to start playing with DMM or how to get started. Let me know if this is something you'd be interested in.

I love the UmaMusume game. I played it when it came out in JP, and also used a guide to try to understand it, it was really fun and the races are really exciting. I stopped playing it because of the struggle of always needing a guide to understand it, praying that a global release could come at some point, and now finally I will be able to reunite with the game. I suggest those that are still indecisive about the game to try it out, it's even better than how it sounds.

It's a really fun game and there's nothing like it right now. Its uniqueness I think will be a huge double-edged sword in the west though lol

For comparison, the gameplay is closest to Idolmaster games on consoles, where you train idols and stats to win at concerts. Which isn't surprising, since creator of Idolmaster franchise worked on Uma Musume at first (and it was he's idea that he pitched to Cygames).

I've never played those games but I wouldn't be surprised. I really like Uma Musume's take on that gameplay loop though. The horse racing aspect really gives it that sports feel to it that gets me hyped.

Precious Clip. You told all I need to said at all. Im your fan now. But I think different some point, you can win Champion Meeting Event by free crystal and free event cards. A game don't rush you to paid, We can save up a crystal for next Scenario that why this game are friendly for all players. We can play 30 minutes per day or not play if you busy. Because a daily quests are easy and an event is not hard to complete.

Honestly, the closest I can think of to this game in terms of gameplay is football managment games, where you just manage the team and the matches play themselves. It specifically reminds me of this internet based one I played back in the 2000's, where every player was randomly generated and you ended up growing attached to your specific guys, seeing them grow and improve; you also had to manage your finances and, if you did poorly, you may have to end up selling that one player you trained and spent so much time on to some other team, and it was kind of a sad situation. Your players would also grow old and retire as time went on, and you could also buy players from other teams and train rookies yourself, so the whole thing ended up being really dynamic. I specifically remember when the best striker from my starter team retired: I looked at the rookie I had been training leading to this moment and I was like "it's on you now to fill his shoes, pal". All of this to say is that you really sold me on the gameplay loop. I'm tempted to give it a shot, even if visually and thematically speaking nothing of it attracts me at all.
@Rednu
@Rednu 6 күн бұрын
I'll be honest, I think it'd be extremely hard to look past the visuals since it ties deeply into the design. Even the game you mention sounds interesting to me, but I would probably never play it because I don't like football in the same way. Hopefully you can enjoy the game and either come to embrace or are able to look past the visuals.

It's just a different animal lol and honestly one of the best things about this IP is how intense the characters are about horse racing to the point it feels like a sports anime at times. I don't see pageantry giving that same effect. Glad to hear you are willing to try it out though!

Adorable anime design is best marketing. This game looks fantastic. If it was available on Steam it would definitely be known in the west. Atelier Resleriana went that way and it worked. Playing it for half a year up to this day together with milions of other people. Really wish Uma Musume devs consider doing the same.

Steam would be a good choice. Cygames is familiar with it so if this does get a PC global port, I think that will be the platform.

I really hope Cygames considers putting it on Steam, given DMM Launcher support is non existent in the West. There is a possibility given there are quite a few Gacha games that are launching on Steam nowadays. Not sure how effective it would be to do so, but I wrote an email to Cygames's American branch (their own purpose is advertising and marketing), hoping that they would suggest to upper management to make a Steam Client. I haven't heard anything back yet.

I did enjoy the anime, it was cute and funny. I might try the game but it seems very involved. It looks as though you might have to spend a significant amount of time to train your horse girl and give her the best chance to win. Although it would break my heart if she starts crying cos she lost so.....
@Rednu
@Rednu 15 күн бұрын
Each game session is a run. It's not a long time at all. Every horse girl you race is like a short Slay the Spire run and each run is different and something you can experiment with.
@zomfgroflmao1337
@zomfgroflmao1337 15 күн бұрын
The concept is interesting, but I'm just not a fan of idol culture or the daughter concept. While you mention Slay the Spire, Reverse 1999 is way more up my alley, the gameplay is very similar to Slay the Spire, but it is gacha and has insane production value (some of the best English voice acting and beautiful art and animation), and is held together by quite the interesting story.
@Rednu
@Rednu 15 күн бұрын
I'm not into idol culture or the daughter concept either. I AM into vtubers, which are similar, but I've never gotten into Japanese or Korean idols, Kpop, etc. Having "daughter" in the name was weird to me too. But these girls aren't your daughters. "Musume" is as much daughter as it is simply "girl" and the relationship isn't as intimate as parent-child. You're really just a coach, and that's how I see it. Uma Musume had cute girls and unique gameplay, that's what brought me into the rest of its world and why I think it's a great experience.

I played the Yuri Camp gacha last year, which many people were calling an "Uma Musume clone" my issue with that game was that the story was boring (just a recap of the anime), the "runs" took over 40 minutes or more, the translation was horrible, and there was a long unskipable tutorial.. I really hope Uma Musume global does not follow these mistakes, cause aesthetically I am greatly interested in it.
@Rednu
@Rednu 14 күн бұрын
@@otomon5 it does seem similar... But the gameplay loop doesn't match the flavor of the game for me. In Uma Musume the horse girls try to be the best horse racer. In Yuru Camp... I'm not sure what they are trying to be.

I think it's perfectly valid as a free to play roguelite game. They give you so many gacha currency for completing achievements and events. Idk how they'd do it for global, but if it's anything similar it should be a good time. Most people agree that the SR cards with max limit break, and you'll get a LOT of SR card duplicates, are better than the occasional SSR cards you roll.

Uma Musume is a game i was interested in since i saw the anime a couples years ago, especially due to Rice Shower. Until the recent announcement i never expected a global release of the game so i pretty much had no hope of playing it (i'm interested in the girls' personality and story so playing japanese wasn't really an option due to language barrier). Right now i'm very hyped for the release! The waiting time until a date is announced and the game becomes available is rough, so I also started to play the japanese version a bit to prepare for the global release!

Asians love their horse waifus and princess connect waifus and reZero waifus, when they come in a collab or a global version to the west they perform vastly different, they may do good for some months after release but then we see low revenues, this game will just just not perform that good here in the west, and thats normal, asians are a just built different than the western audience. A dating simulation game will do as good as princess connect global (RIP) as long as a good publisher takes the torch (no more crunchyroll) this game may last longer than Priconn.
