Don't think I've ever seen anybody try pulling a beaver dam apart by going against the current. Must be a new way to exercise. Lolololol

That's a great swamp or wetland area. But I think you are showing the flooding from the dams.

Does moving the beavers to a trappers kitchen count as relocation?
@zyxw200010 ай бұрын
No, it counts as killing endangered wildlife.

That kinda looks like the guys pond I think that's the overflow so when they damed it up couldn't release the water until u did this

It looks like you made a nice drop in the water level. I just don't quite understand the layout of the waterways you were unclogging. Is that swamp up the road draining into the area that you cleared?

Hello….I have a question please, why do you throw the debris on the side that has to potentially be removed at a later date to open up the dam? Wouldn’t it be better to throw on the banks? PS I have never opened a beaver dam in my life …..just curious, no disrespect meant….thank you for your hard work and videos ❤

Your question is well stated. Beavers tend not to reuse debris removed from the dam, however, if it is thrown back onto another portion of the dam, it will simply be incorporated into the bulk of the structure. Tossing sticks and limbs onto the bank or allowing them to be washed downstream will add work for the beavers in the future. I've dealt with beavers for a long time, including trapping, hunting and structure removal. These dams are built from the bottom up; don't expend energy trying to remove sticks from the bottom -- remove what is loose first. The same holds true after the water is moving; either remove the mud from upstream working back or work along the backside tearing out structure and letting it float away. When removing dams, make the water flow work for you. Work smarter, not harder.

don't you realize that all the debris that you let flow down stream will only clog up somewhere else? I have done clearing debris in waterways and also, It becomes a hazard if it makes way to larger waterways where BOATS use .
@zyxw200010 ай бұрын
Isn't it all waterlogged, and won't it sink to the bottom?
@mpetrangelo10 ай бұрын
@@zyxw2000 some will sink and it becomes a trap for other debris and more debris..like what happens in the culverts and shallows. If the debris didn't pile up...there would be no need to remove it.
