Would love to see a walk around/review of the car! I have an ‘80 c3 so it’s always cool to see other people keeping them alive with me!

If you want to repace electrical tape with something nicer and cleaner, Tessa tape is a good solution

You should try to record yourself doing the work next time, it makes it a lot easier follow when you can see the step by step process. I’m excited to see where you go with the car!

Nice to see another young person charmed by the 82'. Nice car. Do you use any software to work on your car? I use WinALDL to benchmark my car before I make any changes-> watch results to decide if it worked. How's your gas mileage? I am excited to see your progress on the electrical as my car is kind of a mess of mickey mouse nonsense. You say you are stressed while working on your car, you deserve a head pat for attempting the electrical (I am a little scared/procrastinating on this task personally).

Only thing ive really added is a tune and performance chip, avoiding wiring as much as possible haha. Mpg is about 12 at best rn :( and thank you! Gonna post more work soon, just finished my rotors

@@classiccardad Cool. How/why did you end up with an 82? What are your plans for it? 12 mpg lol I don't feel so bad then... I am sitting at 17.5 now without overdrive (sigh...PO put a TH350 in). I started with what I thought was a good running car getting 12 MPG, (lugubrious 9 seconds 0 to 60). If you are feeling "froggy" try capping all your emissions vacuum lines (temporarily disables them). *I may make a video for this (I feel less awkward not being the only under 30 with a C3). I did this and immediately spun the rear tires/back end out at the first stoplight with modest throttle input (startled the heck out of me). Apparently a factory 82 should chirp the tires and scream off the line to 4800 RPM. My car was not doing this when I bought it. I had a broken solenoid on my AIR smog pump leaning out my air/fuel ratio. I fixed all my emissions (carb cleaner + toothbrush) and now my car runs as good as/better than if the emissions are capped. Do you have ALL the shop manuals (PM me if you want them)? I have the 82' Shop Manual, 84 Shop Manual, 78-82 Assembly Manuals, 1994 C/K Truck (5.7 TBI engine is very similar) all digital as pdfs. The 84 manual and C/K manual are 100xs better/more mature documentation than the 82 manual for working on the engine. No one will tell you this but California 82s have different chips/emissions equipment (lower NOX threshold achieved via EGR/chip differences). Be careful with the performance chips. My dad also has an 82 but his is a California car. He put a regular non California chip in it, but still has the original California EGR (runs like crap sometimes). I will not be ever putting a performance chip in mine... Chips are a gimmick at best destructive at worse (regular thermostat with a low temp performance chip). The only benefit to a performance chip is if your original chip didn't get the the upgraded 1984 factory recall (eliminates early torque converter clutch lockup).

@@mike350g I got her in PA a few years ago as a project with my dad. I was considering removing the emissions junk but capping the vaccum lines is so smart, i might do that instead. Im pushing around 270-290 at the moment, i can spin tires in 2nd gear. currently just keeping her alive, no big plans yet

@@classiccardad Neat. I have had my car for 2 years. 270-290 HP? Is the original crossfire gone (even a highly modified crossfire

@@mike350g i advanced timing and changed a few components in the computer (allows higher rpm in gearing and better hp+torque)

So you did all the stock wiring, when you gonna stuff some subs into the trunk and add even more wires to tape?
