The little bot stared at the sleeping giant, suspended by vines and surrounded by the petrified corpses of humanity. It looked as if they were merely a snapshot in time. Likee someone had frozen the chaos of war in this exact moment for all the world to see. "Ironic for the last creation of man," a said a voice. The little bot looked around wildly, his audio sensors searching for it's origin. "Crown created you out of hopes and dreams to change the world," the voice continued, "and he got what he wished for didn't he?" An eerie quiet settled over the forest as if every living thing gave its silence to watch as an audience for the two. "The slumbering behemoth before you? You could say he is your descendent. With a little energy and a few spare parts, you could have him up and running again," The voice paused. "but that is not the point. After your creator's successful attempt of your fully functional creation, he unveiled you to the world saying you were humanity's next step to a brighter future, but the more twisted and bitter of his kind saw it as another way to continue their petty fights to give them a feeling of satisfaction and some form of purpose." The was a sound, like a foot clawing into the dirt. "They came saying they could bring more to you, expand upon you, they did, but only in matters of destruction." The voice paused again, this time for so long that the little bot thought the voice was gone for good and jumped when it started again. This time there was a somber undertone. "It became the end for all of them," "Crown hid you away in the place you were born, wiped your memory drive clean, only leaving your first memories so that you may know him but your mind would still be pure." The little bot turned to where he thought the voice was and spoke. "So why are you telling me this?" The littlebots voice sounded like an old recording underwater. It was a miracle the voice understood him at all. "Because I believe that you deserve to know the truth. You were searching for answers. No?" The voice asked him. "Yes, but-" the voice cut him off. "Looking for the truth can sometimes lead to...painful discoveries." The little bot hung his head. He wanted this to stop, he wanted to delete these memory files, but he was in too deep. The voice had captivated him like a siren. He could not back out now. "Wh-who are you?" the little bot struggled to say. Suddenly, a sleek and flexible form emerged from the shadows as if it materialized from thin air. "I am one of your descendants."

Okay The professor completed his project. One day other people found his work, they found it interesting. The prof, who wanted to change everything, followed along. Eventually they started making new prototypes, with better AI and everything. Unfortunately, they then decided that these robots can serve a more... harmful purpose. They made weapons, machines that destroy. The prof. did not want this, this was not what he intended, he wanted to help the world, not destroy it. Eventually he took his creation and hid away in the place where he recorded, and died there. While he lived and then died, the people who onced worked with him still managed to tinker with their machines, making them better. It ended up sparking a war, where they used their robots. And the war machines were prooven to be too perfect in their purpose.

I came to the comment section looking for answers, as I always do when I watch meaningful animations. No one seems to have put anything about the meaning behind this so here's my theory for you guys. The technician made his first prototype to help and change the world. While he couldn't boot up the small robot it showed cutsecenes of it in the future, so clearly that is what it had become. When he finally got the the robot going he realised he could make many more. Where he states that the robot is going to change the world, it did, but not in the way he intended. His later robots were A.I. and could think for themselves. They went to war with the humans after realising they were made by them, but they were hungry for more power. They killed all the humans and then shut down themselves because no creation can live if it had not been in care by the creator. The robots didn't realise this however, as they are only self learning AI. The only robot that survived was the technicians first prototype because it relied on nature, as we saw and only learnt of peace because it was a prototype, and was not made to change the world on its own so it acted differently. Where as if he had been made with other robots he would have learnt like them and been like them. He sees the destruction that his kind had caused at the end and then runs back into nature realising that he was just the first of a deadly kind. Also like this comment if u guys want to see a part two of this because I know I do and also this comment took me ages to right so please show some appreciation for my theory. Hope u guys are all safe from corona and have a nice day. 😀

Well, if you believe in evolution we originated in Africa and spread across Europe and Asia . Our spread across the planet has destroyed quite a bit of habitat for many creatures. We’ve out competed quite a few other species fighting for survival and brought livestock and crops to many parts of the world, upsetting the food chain quite a bit.
@MrEzioCraft3606 жыл бұрын
Well, yeah, if we were not here, the world might be a more beautiful place, but hey, who would be here to witness it all then? I know that hate towards humanity is a pretty common thing, but out of the many chances there have already been for us to go extint, or to not evolve at all, we managed to evolve, to progress, and to be the only animals we know about that are able to realise how lucky we are to be alive, and to see the beauty of this, and other worlds. This capabilites also carry a high risk of destroying everything around us, but it's also in our power to discover and to witness as much beauty as we can without destroying it in the process, don't you think? So yeah, good think humans exist, in my opinion

Wait a minute Does this professor could be the mayor from the last episode of Dystopian? I mean they are both inventors, they have both making robots. Like after this war he decide to make a more peacefull version of the robots and make a city that could be a prototype of autodale and then after a failing experience the city collapse and create some kind of virus as we see in the last episode. The mother of nature came (Cleary this is one. It is very similar to the old video he made of mother nature) healed the children but the professor figured that she need fuel to help other so that's how it began. I mean it's my thoughts and I don't think that could be the real lore but I think it could be interesting that every animation he made is connected.

SPOILERS I have a theory. This is the prequel to “Being Pretty”. I think that the machine started to upgrade itself until it became able to make more robots. These new robots become the handymen, the original machine becomes that huge thing that seems to lead the handymen, and the last surviving humans become the uglies, prettys, and exceptionals.
@thecrystalcrystals92427 жыл бұрын
I think the dystopian animations are prequels to this. I think at the end of some sort of period when Autodale thrived, the handymen and all other robots were left to roam the war-scarred Earth or something. Maybe the city that this bipedal robot walks around near is either Autodale or an autocity akin to it.

Really it all just boils down to us not treating life we created as living things. we treat them as though they're still machines when they are so much more. It's alright to create robots for war (In a sense, not promoting it or anything of the sort) as there are humans who are only good at fighting but when it comes down to it, do we treat them as a machine or as a living being with thoughts and feelings. No one is born evil, but what it comes down to is their decision when things are tough, or when things aren't. The best way to ensure that we and the robots, if it comes down to it, have even ground when fighting. we fight robots alongside robots. unless you decide to screw everyone up by connecting every robot to one source.

This film inspired one of my first dnd campaigns. The campaign was a flop cause I didn't know how to gm or story-tell at the time but I keep going back to this in my mind. The idea is just so... beautiful, inspiring, & at the same time filled with subtle horror, *especially* the last scene (well I guess the last scene is less subtle in its horror :P). I've followed you ever since, watched all your work, you've improved so much, I have to, I guess we all have I hope. Thanks for being in my life through all its changes & rough times. I hope to continue watching your work as long as you enjoy it. I hope to be here 10 years from now, watching this, remembering who I was at the time, & how I've grown. I hope you can do the same with yourself, your art, & everything. & someday I hope I can support you in more than flowery words, whether it be patreon or something else idk. I just want to thank you for being in my life, even if it is just through this channel, even the smallest change in something can change someone forever, without your work I'd be a different person. When the doctor said "he will change the world" he meant it. The robot eventually produced stronger robots used for war. Then all the humans died and the robots shut down so I'm guessing the lil dino bot is the last one.. ;-; I'm so sad
@nautilusshell20897 жыл бұрын
So in the part of the robot being used for war, i think it was, but i dont think it was only the robots fault on turning against the humans. They probably had protocols to save humans, and the enemy from the war blew up the army with nukes(Why the skins are petrified as well). Soon the robots realised this, and they deduced that to save humanity they would have to kill humanity(to keep them from suffering,with explains the bones). The reason why the petrified people are like that is because they were maybe a group of survivors, and they were starting to be petrified. The robots then attacked the humans(and killed some) but obviously not all of them.
@Exile_Sky7 жыл бұрын
Looks more like a nuke was dropped on the robot. Dusting and calsification can occur at the temperatures near an impact cite. It would also explain the bones in the office of the researcher. They would of showed some sign of a struggle had there been one, but the way they set it up suggests a sudden death (lethal radiation dosages). The rest of it is well... Chernobyl. Just after a really long time.
@DocWolph7 жыл бұрын

"This robot, and bots like him, their gonna change the world." _proceeds to show little robot looking at what the big robot had done to the human kind_

Stunning! So much emotion and beauty in four minutes. The moment when Menace and the bee were contemplating each other was just powerful, it made me cry. And the ending is so raw and painful, it hurts me deep inside. Thank you for this 💔

“A long time later” It might be after an atomic bomb, or something else, that killed most humans off. Leaving the other animals to mutate or rot.

If you saw the ending, a giant version of the little dino bot thingy was literally killing humans before it deactivated.

I think the machine is a metaphor for creativity. The engineer's first test fails, but it slowly starts to work. After enough time, it starts to listen to him, but it still has a mind of its own. Some time after the machine powers down, the engineer ( presumably) moves on to something else. Even more time passes, and the world falls into chaos fought with bigger machines, more creativity. Finally, the first machine wakes up, and the childlike wonder of creativity roams the world, only to learn of the past's mistakes. Or it's just a cute animation. Definitely one of those two.

This has a lot of the same vibes as movies like 9 and especially gives me the Big Hero 6 vibe… it’s really emotional and cute, but it also has the beauty that’s always hidden somewhere in every one of your short films.

Not exactly. The prototype was intended for good. I saw a comment saying that the company he was trying to get into with the project stole it and changed it to be war-intended. You can also tell this from the fact that the one he made didn't have teeth, but the war one does.

So that big robot killed everyone? And the same guy who created the main robot created him thinking that the big robot was change the world too?
@ptonpc5 жыл бұрын
The small robot is the prototype then something happened (perhaps the larger designs were for the military, or an AI wiped out humanity, or the professor might have created them in order to wipe out humans). The prototype has been turned off for many years and reactivates. It then goes off to explore.

No, the smaller one came after the larger one. You can tell by it “discovering” it’s surroundings.

@@mayonnaise2396 No, the smaller one was powered down. It was still in the lab where it was made.

I can't even begin to imagine the amount of work and passion you've poured onto this animation, good job man! You more than just deserve recognition, people like you are going places. Good luck with these, and don't forget what's important is your happiness making these animations! Love your work!
