This video was recorded at 1080p@30fps as my actual capture card is having problems with fast racing games and causes screen freezes when recording at 1080p@60fps. I used my older capture card which records a clearer picture but can only do 30pfs at 1080p. And by the way, Redout 2 is difficult as hell. The first game was awesome, but Redout 2 is pure frustration. Maybe after lots of practice you can get some fun out of it.

Frustrating? Fast RMX is enough for me! XD In any case, I don't like ports that have such a low resolution. Surely playing it in portable mode is the only solution (for my eyes).

Yes, the resolution is way too low. In portable mode, you often don't see where the track is heading to. Makes it more difficult on Switch.

No, nothing yet, it's still the release version 1.0.1. I have no idea if they will release a patch. Hopefully yes.

they have released updates that as far as I can tell, have helped the stuttering A LOT. pop-in not doing so well, especially when first loading in, but its mostly unnoticeable in play.

If you want to play it on TV, I think it's still playable on Switch, with maximum 30fps and ocasional frame rate drops. In handheld mode though, the screen resolution is quite low and for me it was difficult to see where the tracks were heading to. This makes the game more challenging as it already is. Redout 2 is more challenging than the first game. You need to practice a lot to master the tracks. If you don't like that and only want to play in handheld mode, better skip this game. Or better get Redout, the prequel, which is IMO the much better racing game.

Oh no, definitely not. As the screen of the Switch lite is even smaller, this game will be more challenging than on the OLED Switch I was playing on. Better save your money for another game.

For futuristic racing fun, just play Fast RMX and Cruis'n Blast. RISE: Race the Future would had been a close third if the vehicle handling didn't control like a hammer. Every other ones are garbage.

30fps shouldn't even exist anymore (talking about the game itself, which maxes out at 30, not about your video capture). This is where Switch owners consider going to the other two giants. Nintendo needs to sort that out asap.

I see no issue with 30fps. It may not be as smooth as 60 but it’s still more than playable. Also you can’t complain really when not only are you watching footage of game engine that is notorious for running terribly on switch, but you take into account the fact that the switch is an android tablet using tablet based chipsets and is somehow still able to run the unreal engine.

Smooth 30 fps looks significantly better that staggery 60 fps i.e. it constantly jumps around anywhere between 50fps and 70 fps. Whereas a smooth 30fps is locked into 30 and never goes up or down, and because of that, it's significantly better looking and better for allowing you to play well

@@northefletcher5044 With fast racing games like this, 60 FPS is a must imo. I have the first Redout on Switch and aside from the graphical downgrades which are pretty major at times, the 30 FPS just are too less for such kind of a game. I played it multiple hours and really wanted to like it more, but the 30 FPS and often hard to see track turned me off and I stopped playing. From seeing this video, I don't assume Redout II being any better on Switch, so I won't buy it. FAST RMX and F-Zero 99 are what works great on Switch in that genre, Redout is for sure good too, but on other systems that can run it the way those games are intended.
