Out of all the locations in the base game, I actually quite like the themes that play in Tartarus Mines. Really fits the aesthetic of the location.

They just have to replace this horrible "Who Hoo, Who Hoo" sound from the shield re-charger, to make it as subtle as the alarm sound. Otherwise it is nearly perfect and triumphs over the predecessor.

1st game is better by my opinion. This is more whipe-out then redout..... 1st game u had smooth controls, here u got only speed and o lot of straight lines.....

@@xjt5998 In my opinion, it's the opposite. First Redout has AI that can't keep up with you.

They definitely improved the controlls in the second game. But I would argue that the rest is preatty much worse. The locations lost a lot of their identity. The tracks are a random mess of loops, turns, jumps etc with no design language guiding them. There is nothing memorable about them anymore. In the first game, each enviroment had tracks specifically designed to fit that enviroment with unique features. Now, every track has everything. The music also got much worse. Many soundtracks don't even fit the game. And those few who do fit the games and enviroments, are way too repeditive. Sad, that they haven't hired teh same composer again. The upgrade system got completely linear, the campagin mode becam e an even bigger mess and the multiplayer has even less features now. The boosting syxstem is a nice idea but very poorly executed. The first game was all about racing with speed, not micro management down to the second. And the overall game also got quite a bit slower, actually. The game is ok, i guess. They really nailed the controlls, they feel amazing. But I see why literally no Redout fan so far is really happy with the second game. It feels more modern thanks to hardware and software improvements. But if you leave those improvements out, the overall quality got worse.

@@vendasiax666x8 Race tracks? None at all. Some of the enviroments are called the same like Cairo. But besides the name, they don't have much common at all. Booth are deserts, yet they are designed very differently. That is actually a good thing, but what's not is that all enviroments in redout 2 have a very similar design compared to each other, especially when it comes to the tracks. In redout 1, each enviroment had tracks with special features and an own deisgn language. In redout 2, the enviroments are basically only background assets, with no influence on the track design. Each track could be placed in each enviroment and it would feel and look exactly the same.
