Such a wealth of useful information to alleviate the pain and maintain the fun of ownership! Definitely a condensation issue with one of my front headlamp assemblies. Is this something you have covered or about to cover. Many thanks.

Can you (with input from your subscribers?) consider creating an article and/or video in which you can list ALL the cheaper and parts bin items that owners can use as an alternative to buying from a dealer and paying the AM tax on??? I'm sure that - although it might be quite a bit of work - something like this would be FANTASTICALLY popular with your viewers!!! Obviously there would be differences between the models.

Thanks for the video. I will be looking forward to seeing your next video fixing the condensation issues on your tail lights. I have been covering my tail lights every time I wash my car. :(

Can the headlights and taillights be sealed (silicone?) pre-emptively to avoid the condensation issue?
@francisvachon20513 жыл бұрын
Actually in Canada all light go on not just the DRL even if the light button inside the car is set to off but you will have to turn that knob to on if you want to use the High Beam

My right rear tail light of my 2014 V8V roadster has condensation in it, but only after watching this video did I learn that it could lead to issues. You mentioned another video where you resolve this? I don't think I see it.

In the UK we are RH drive but sometimes drive in LH drive Europe necessitating the need to dip the other way. Can this be done with a switch some way?
@Redpantslol3 жыл бұрын
There isn't a switch or "easy" solution to swap between RHD and LHD unless you have a tech to swap between the sets of actual LHD/RHD headlights. But, from a distance: Before your trip, adjust the headlights to a RHD-biased aim before you head to continental Europe. You'll have a relatively short trip in the LHD area that may not require headlights at all (so, non-issue) before spending the bulk of the trip in the RHD area. Once you're back, re-adjust to your previous LHD positions. Not a simple issue, but.. *ehhh* imagine if Brexit was boiled down to where your headlights are pointed.... let's do what we can to manage... Beyond that, I can refer you to a few shops in England and the mainland. If you want to chat with them, please do, but please support them however you can :)

The lens on your headlight is easily repairable. It's just a matter of wet sanding and then clear coating.
@aston-martin-internationalist3 жыл бұрын
Won't need clear coating. If you wet sand, polish and seal with ceramic coating you're essentially returning it to how it was when it was new. Once that's done, you can re-apply PPF. Would not clear coat polycarbonate
@Redpantslol3 жыл бұрын
Yep, not too difficult to fix. Up until now I've been leaving it like that to warn others of the risk. I'll be repairing it in the next few weeks because I may be selling the pair of them as I'll have to replace them regardless with RHD versions soon.

Have you ever tried conformally coating the headlight PCB? There are some great brush on and spray on conformal coatings...
@mikemittel26913 жыл бұрын
Couldn’t you wet sand and polish and ad a clear coat to the messed up headlight? I would think that would bring back the clarity. Just like removing the yellow or cloudiness of older headlights.
@Redpantslol3 жыл бұрын
Yep, I could, but I left it that way as a warning to others, and I'm going to be replacing my headlights soon anyway.

Prevention is the best policy... repairs are very difficult. I'm working with a company that's burned through a couple dozen sets of rear tail lights to perfect their process. Add it up.... imagine that up-front cost for the method alone... Hopefully the upcoming DIY will help but it'll be risky regardless.

4m.16s it looks like you are missing a nozzle. I can only see one of two. I'm missing one on mine too. So when I spray one jet hits the light the other goes straight up in the air. Does anyone know where I can get a new nozzle without buying the whole unit?

@@Redpantslol thank you for your reply and I apologise it is off topic from your vid but I am just about to order some wheels tomorrow (I have a 2007 V8 Vantage). I was gravitating toward 20’s but was concerned about rubbing. Have you had issues or heard of issues with 20’s? Endless hours of forum research I have not reached a definitive conclusion on what is best. I do like the look of 20’s though. Your videos have helped a lot with my purchase btw thanks.
@Redpantslol3 жыл бұрын
@@tamabrown807 I prefer 19s myself and that's what I use, but I've got several customers that bought 20" wheels from me. No issues whatsoever for any that I've sold because of how I spec them. So long as you're getting a quality set of wheels, whether or not you'll have issues with 20" wheels depends entirely on the widths and offsets you use.

HID headlights must have headlight washers by law (in the UK) you won't pass an MOT without them.

Looks like the headlights clear coat was either damaged or theres residue left behind. Honestly its an easy fix either way. Either clean the residue off. Or wet sand the lense. Then reclear. Boom headlight looks new.
