As a student clinician in a speech language pathology program at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas, there were several times we student clinicians (under PhD professors supervision) were required to test the speech language skills of homeschooled children. These were usually divorced parents with the mother homeschooling, and the father challenging that their children would fall behind since they were not public school educated. In every instance, without exception, the speech and language skills of these homeschooled children were far above chronological age level.

If everyone were faithful, partners would not have to worry and could rely on their families. But I only have marriages around me that fail after 25 years? Why? And why do all women have the disadvantage? They have sacrificed themselves for their family, with love and dedication. And have to find a job at the age of 50, because the man sells everything, puts his money in another and the mother was not additionally insured. I understand the uncertainty and fear in our society. If you are not 1000% Christian and have this rock solid faith like people like Candace or Ellen Fisher, no one guarantees you security. This is sad, but the reality.

I am a 30 year old mum, from the UK but living in Japan. It is completely acceptable to be a stay at home mum in Japan, in fact, it’s mostly expected (if your husband is making enough salary). I wish I had taken the traditional route, but I was so brainwashed before and wanted to be a working mum. Now my son is 5 years old, I am finding myself yearning to be a stay at home mum. I missed so much time with my son, I wish I could bake, cook, teach. I am yearning to be more feminine, something I tried to push away because I believed feminine women were full of themselves. I’ve been so brainwashed. I’m waking up!

Welcome Mama. I also left corporate banking and a senior management position to be a stay at home mom. My kids were 5 and 1 at the time. I felt gutted every time I dropped them off at Pre-school or leaving them with a nanny. I was so depressed and felt like a failure. Even though it meant less money, my husband and I decided it was what’s best for our family. Fast forward 13 years later, my eldest is off to university and baby is now in high school. I was that mom at every meeting, coaching their sports teams and every recital. Our bond as a whole, even with my husband is so much stronger. My husband actually flourished being the man of the home. Having a supportive wife instead of co-man in the relationship. His business grew, and I furthered my studies. When the baby leaves in 4 years, I’ll pursue my new career. It won’t be easy, and sometimes you’ll have doubts. Just remember why you took the decision to be a stay home mom and focus on that. The rest will fall into place. All the best, no matter what happens ❤❤❤

I found out the hard way why leftist/feminsts are against it; its bc when sht hits the fan you will be on your own with 3 kids and if you dont work, the courts favor the man when it comes to custody. How will you get a home and provide for your kids after divorce? Lickily I had built my own lil company to survive. Feminists dont hate you bc you love your kids or husband. Theyre just warning you to not fall victim or be a doormat. To avoid this, there are women who have their own bank account and pensions, in which their husbands put money every month for when sht hits the fan. Remember that if you stay home for a decade and something happens and you need to work again, you have a decades gap in your resumee. Nobody will hire you. Thats all. If you cover these basis, youre good.Feminists dont have anything else they can 'bully' you with. And kids love it when youre home ofcourse.

Ballerina Farm should sue. That author and hollywood are going to make money off making a mockery of the humble way she chooses to live her life! That cannot be ok.

I still don’t understand how people think her life is so crazy humble? They’re obviously well off and successful. I haven't missed out. I have met quite a few women who are also mothers bash me because I choose to be a SAHM and homeschool. I am glad women like Ballerina Farm are taking a stance and having an impact on women. What a blessing it is to be a mother and have that desire to want to take care of your family. I have my interests and my own hobbies and get my time away from my children to rejuvenate myself. My husband is so present in my children's lives. Candace - we have this in Africa too now (35:20). Recent news articles show a gym members reported sharing a bathroom with someone who could potentially harm them, only for the gym to offer the person being reported an apology and a free membership for the offense they took...ya'll need to sort this out there in the States. Also, South Africa has a new school bill called the BELA bill, proponents promise it won't go as far as teaching our children about sex and abortion and transitioning - while the bill clearly states that children over the age of 12 can do transitioning and abortions without the parent knowing, its gonna be between the child and the teacher.

Candace, I know Hannah's parents, I had Thanksgiving with them and about half her siblings and half of the grandchildren one year. They are the most loving and giving and talented people on the planet. The way she's living her life is exactly how she grew up and anyone who speaks negatively of that lifestyle is sheltered, small and jealous. In my opinion one of the biggest factors is that her religion supports that kind of life, even encourages it. We were put on this earth to live like that, and I wish I could as well.

I love being a traditional Muslim wife and mother of three kids. Even though I run my own business, I take pride in raising three kids. Alhamdulillah! I have been married for 26 yrs, got married when I was 19. It’s is biggest blessing of God.

I am nearly 84 and became a Muslima in May. One reason for this is my admiration for the Palestinian people, and another, equally important, is my respect for Islam's focus on family values. I love being part of a religion that reveres women, especially mothers. Sending love to you, Sister.

Thank you for all you say Candace. You speak the truth of how I feel about the woke community. I actually had a issue with a guy trying to go into a restroom, while my wife was in there. I stood my ground and would not let him in. He call management and stated that he identifies as a woman. I said well you're not going in there and that's a fact. And the manager said that they would have to call the cops. I said call them I'll be gone before they get there and I won't be shopping here anymore.

Actually you’re probably right, unfortunately for some women envy is the only way they express what they actually want. I think women being single is fine, but when they attack women who are married with kids clearly they are not happy with being single.

I so appreciate your support of Ballerina Farm and seeing through the manipulative and negative media spin. The inaccurate stereotypes of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are incredibly annoying. The church encourages education for both women and men - my dad was a bishop in the Mormon church and always encouraged me to get as much education as possible. I got a PhD and had a career and 7 children, because I grew up in a stable household with five siblings and parents who were committed and loved each other. I wanted to replicate the household in which I was raised because it was free of addiction and instability. If I had to choose career or family for purpose and meaning, it wouldn't be my career. Most of the vitriol in social media seems to come from resentful women who are envious. Thanks, Candace, for recognizing the wholesome qualities of Neeleman's lifestyle - the Tradwife term is so reductive and shallow, and the world would be a healthier, safer place with more Hannah Neelemans in it. It seems on trend to portray Mormons as naive idiots or unabashed immoral hypocrites when the reality is so different, and every religion has variance in members' orthodoxy. The media can't make up its mind and I get fatigued from seeing my religion misrepresented so often when it authentically promotes virtue and goodness founded on the teachings of Jesus Christ. The hit piece on Neeleman was so tainted with bias it was nauseating to read - I hope people see through the nonsense. We officially live in a world where evil is called good and good is called evil.

Ever since Hathaway made fun of Katie Holmes’s visibly asymmetrical facial movements in talking (Holmes had/has a medical condition called Bells Palsy), I just can’t stand that woman. Yes she is incredibly physically beautiful but I don’t stand for that sort of mean behavior.

Candace, it started from people saying “that Hannah and her husband had money to start with”. “ Nobody could really live this life if they weren’t rich to begin with”. We all know this isn’t true, Hannah and her husband could have done anything with their “money”, yet they chose to invest it in this Farm life”

What on earth? I have 3 college degrees and my classes were in English reading literature and visual art and I'm Christian. I was homeschooled and I read all kinds of classic books as a teen including the full version of Les Miserables. I read actual books and I'm very well educated. I'm wondering if she's the one who hasn't read many books if she thinks no works of fiction have oppression of women in them because if she read much she would know in modern America we have such a beautiful opportunity as women to have all kind of opportunities and experiences we want to have. I follow ballerina farm and it's because as a homemaker homeschooling my children I relate to her and enjoy seeing her baking, that's it.

You're so right! Most will never be able to even conceptualize the type of education you had and the depth of understanding for humanity that the experience gives you. Their world, and their ideas are so small. I feel badly for them. It's like Plato's Allegory of the Cave.

I am 67 years old and have seen a lot in my life. I had 5 beautiful children. They have all grown to be hardworking Christian adults with families of their own. I would do it all over again. As I age I am grateful for family. I have children and (9 grandchildren) that care about me . I actually feel sad for people my age that did not have children for they admit to me that they are quite lonely. Not everyone is blessed to have children and would have had children if they could. The joyful noise from family. The constant memories that are created by family being together or in touch with me. I never dreamed of a fancy house, shiny car, diamonds , fancy clothes or fame. My life is stable and complete and blessed by God. God blessed me with a family. Love you Candace for being a REAL woman, wife, daughter and mother........... You are an amazing role model.

Former stay at home mom here. Never planned it and I didn't think I'd quit my job to take care of my children. But I loved being able to see and experience my children grow up with me. I wish my mom was able to be a SAHM. But she couldn't afford to do that. So either way, let's appreciate and respect each mother's journey. Thank you Candace for featuring Ballerina Farm. Hey Candace, Loyal viewer of your podcast for almost two years. I am a black single mother of three from Chicago, transformed to a fully bold Christian conservative. This scripture reminds me of you: “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what such people do secretly; but everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for everything that becomes visible is light.” Ephesians 5:11 When it comes to the young lady who is intrigued by ballerina farm, she seems intelligent. It just seems to me that people are operating more and more deeply in fear. The opposite of fear is faith, not trusting in yourself, trusting that everything is working out for you regardless of the circumstance. Both my oldest sister and best friend are married. I wish I was, but their father left when I decided to keep our youngest child. He is operating in fear. And my sister confided in me that she doesn’t want to give her husband the third child he is requesting due to financial fears. There are only two choices in this life. By the way, I’ve read a LOT of books and the Bible is hands down the best in my opinion. Lastly, I pray you know that the black community does not agree with your every view, but that we love you infinitely. I hope one day you acknowledge that systemic racism is real and has real effects, even in today. - Love, Crystal 💕
