Actually, any bare metal you've produced by cutting or grinding could start producing more rust very quickly. If you kept a can of spray primer with you, you could spray the area you just exposed to the elements. Have a great day 😊.

Along the ocean where steel can start rusting within minutes of exposure commercial fishermen use a product called "Ospho" as a rust-inhibitor. It is inexpensive, effective and easy to apply (with a paint brush) until we get around to hitting it with primer and/or paint. I never see Ospho away from the coast but it is available online.

So I had this thought and you had brought up about doing things different with the animals next year. I'm not sure if that was just because of the snow or not but, if so. What if you heated the roof by the animals and were able to control the run off of the snow, run it out further away from the shop? You make your own power so thought it might not be to uneconomical. Just an idea. Hope you guys are well.

It would really help the kids if you had straw or hay on the floor to help them keep warm. Also many people keep the newly born kid and mom together in a small pen for 24 to 48 hours, so they can get acquainted without the other goats bothering them. Love your channel.

As I’ve watched you over the years, there have been many tools, trucks and machines you’ve purchased, but I do believe your best investment has been the leaf blower. You seem to use that more than anything else you’ve ever purchased and, I must admit, they’re a great tool to have. I never sweep anything outside, it’s all done with the leaf blower. I do woodworking as a hobby and used my air compressor with the air nozzle to blow sawdust off myself, my projects and to clean up the shop, along with the vacuum. But now I only use my blower for the most part. It’s just easier and faster than the compressor.

Honest I didn't watch the previous tank videos yet. But I'm sure u already know that the pressure test should be done with it filled with water and a pressure washer. Water is not compressible so if it pops it will just split and leak out vs Turing into a torpedo or schrapnell 💥. That how most all pressure vessels are tested
@patrickstephens9211

Thats how we test stuff where i work i can 100% attest to this although this i kind of a different situation. Not sure id want moisture in my propane, but im no expert
@davidwilkie9709
@davidwilkie9709 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely 100% that is how you test a pressure vessel that is rated for over 15 PSI(API vessel). The amount of possible kinetic energy sitting there when pressured by air to 250 PSI would be fatal. As far as worrying about water in the tank after testing you either purge the tank or pull a vacuum to clear the tank of water.

In our area, any coded (certified) pressure vessel that has been modified in any manor must be re-certified. Around here it’s a very expensive task and few shops are set up to do it. And that’s in an area (oil and gas) where shops are plentiful. I can’t imagine how you could get that done in the field in the middle of Idaho. I would have left it as it was and not take a chance of the propane company not wanting to take on the liability and refusing to fill it.

@@wkjeom if you've been watching since the beginning like many of us, you'd know Heathe flys by the seat of his pants... 'long term planning' isn't one of his strengths & that's why he has to re-do everything. He should've tiled around the house & shop when he built it but he didn't, probably because all we've heard for the last 20 yrs is "the earth is burning up" & "snow would be a distant memory by 2013" Idaho was probably in a drought when he built the house & the thought of much snow & run off just didn't occur to him. The lesson to be learned is: Don't believe anything the Government says about 'Climate.'

Good concept and certainly a good conservation move but for ponds etc., to hold water, they require a bunch of good clay starting well below the dam itself. Anything less, especially rocks or sandy soil just won't work. It appears to me that Red Poppy soils go from dark, loamy soil to rocks; in all the episodes we have watched Heath dig, trench or sink wells, I can't recall a soil strata that would form an necessary impermeable 'keyway' inside the dam itself to stop the water from turning the dam structure into a muddy sponge.

The problem with moving that much snow, is that when you think you moved enough, in reality you will wish you moved twice that amount. Never seems to fail. Paint the tank and put back on the "Hazmat 1025" stickers. Then put a company sign like "RPR Propane" with your YT logo. That would look cool.

Nice to see you finally got a set of pallet forks. You'll find all sorts of uses for them LOL. I just have a small tractor, but find myself using the pallet forks far more than I do the loader bucket. I've also found I end up using my tractor/loader as a wheelbarrow around the property just as you were doing with the skid steer hauling your tools up to the propane tank....I mean you got the skid steer there you gotta make use of it, can't let that stuff set long HAHA!! Nice that you picked up that trencher attachment, you'll find great use for it as well...its one of those things that after you get a task completed it might sit for months, maybe years, but when you need it, its there for you, no need to run to town to try and find one to rent...I can't recall if you mentioned getting a post hole digger for the skid steer but I think that would be one item I'd pickup for sure as well....on a homestead like you've got, you probably dig a lot of post holes throughout the year, so it would be quite nice to have one for the skid steer....given it has the hydraulics to handle that stuff, put that thing to great use saving you time for other projects. You are gonna need another shop just to store your equipment, probably a good idea too, enclose it completely so you can at least heat it in the winter, to make service/repair work a much more tolerable task...as anyone with equipment knows, the service/repair work is never fun, and even less so when you gotta try and do it when its freezing or sweltering outside.

Out of firewood, he's got a whole forest behind him LOL.

Hey have you checked that you have room for Gas Tanker to swing round as these tankers don't like tight spaces maybe some sort of drive up and drive straght out ,here in NZ Tanker must be at least 3 mtrs away from filling point with an Earth peg to earth to there must be no statistics point anywhere as remember that tank if she blows will take your whole farm apart so think very carefully where what and how are you going to get truck to and from tank you might think yea this be okay but it's better to be a lot safer , better still get the Gas company to send a truck driver out so he can tell you what where and how it its better for them to reach your tank as you don't want tanker turning up then turn round and say this is no good for me to load .we in NZ are very strict with our fuel unloading points . I know this as I was a tanker driver for 39 years hope this gives you an safety idea , I don't mean to frighten you but think of your family and safety at all times
