My favourite scene in the whole anime is just after Ippo gets knocked out doing the Dempsey Roll on Volg, when Ippo and Kamogawa are on the roof. Ippo has lost his strongest weapon and his only chance of holding onto the belt. And yet despite the fact that the odds are stacked against him, he starts shadow boxing, and then weight of my pride starts playing in the background. 😍

What gets me is that Ippo chose Sawamura. He chose his worst possible matchup and overcame all those odds. Ippo is my inspiration

It frustrated me a little that those two were always depicted as weak or rather "weaker". I get that it is Hajime no IPPO, but those two train too. It's not like they refuse to do anything. On top of that apparently they are supposed to be "higher ranked" within their own weights. I also feel like we could have had more good fights out of Kimura. Aoki's fights are hilarious, but we don't get to see a lot of Kimura.
