In my family, that one drawer in the kitchen was called the "junk drawer " for all the miscellaneous bits and bobs, but everyone contributed, not just Dad's stuff! What fun that this is found in UK and US!!😆😆🇺🇲🇺🇲

I saw this in lifestyle form, 3 bedroom like this and standard form with 4 bedrooms. When ever Redrow do I lifestyle version of a property, you;lose a bedroom and family bathroom, but each bedroom has it’s own en-suite. Downstairs identical on both standard and lifestyle versions. I personally prefer this three bedroom lifestyle version, but I suppose it depends on if you need three or for bedrooms. Excellent review as always. You must be getting a host of ideas for the renovation of your own home from all these tours. Exciting times for you both. Best wishes

This house is stunning, the extra living area in the kitchen is great. A bathroom in each bedroom . The sizes of each room . The garden . The garage ? The price too!! , there’s a 1 bed flat in my road in nw London at 420,0000 and it’s probably at best half the size of the lower floor of this house . I cannot see these houses lasting long on the market . I cannot get enough of these house / flat / mansion tours . So you’ve gained a new subscriber. Thank you

Good evening Eliot & Matt Great videos, very informative. I do think that Redrow houses are one of the better property options when it comes to new builds. However, when it comes to purchasing a Redrow house as a current home owner, matters become problematic. It has been suggested to me that I should sell my property, put my furniture into storage, and move into rented accommodation, removing me from any chain. Then purchase a Redrow new build as and when my property choice becomes available, without knowing the price. To follow such a route gives me a sense of jeopardy. This may be a local issue in the Southeast, and I should add that the build has not yet started. Its all been very off-putting. Regards Robert

Nice one, i prefer 3 bedrooms with a larger ensuite and master like this. BUT again the fridge next to the oven ! Big no ! Why do they always put that here ? Not fan of the kitchen colours at all either and would get rid of family room to put the dining table and an island. I wouldn't need two living rooms, i hate watching television next to the kitchen. As i said, well i think i said ? I'm not living in UK and looking to buy there but I'm waiting for answers from Robertson Homes about things i find odd in British homes. Thanks again guys !

I agree with you I don’t like the fridge next to the oven, drives me crackers! I get the family, dining, kitchen idea for families with smaller children. You say your not British, lots of brits tend to stand around in the kitchen and socialise - it comes from when the working classes couldn’t afford to heat their entire homes and so would just heat the kitchen, the family would hang in there to keep warm. I believe some even slept in their. Before our homes were built or renovated to have bathrooms we also used to bathe in the kitchen aswell. So I think for British families it does make sence to have a layout like that especially if there are young children your watching over, as most parents will likely gravitate to standing around in the kitchen. I’m some older houses they still have a formal kitchen and dining room and then have a sorta kitchen, diner, snug/ conservatory for hanging out in. My grandparents had a big house like this, we were only allowed in the kitchen and lounge on sundays, birthdays and Christmas as children. If you’ve got an older family or no children I personally would do as you suggested and have it as just a big kitchen diner.

@@josie5670 Thanks for your explanations, I understand this kind of layout now. It makes sense. Indeed we are a couple ( not old lol ) with no children so yes a big kitchen would be better for us. We are not used here about the kitchen as the central place in a home, cultural difference i think. Glad to hear someone that finds a fridge close to any heat sources as completely nonsense ! I really don't understand, that's really bad for a fridge and can even break it over time. I watch a lot of British new builds presentations on KZbin with my husband and another thing we don't understand are windows. They always open outwards so you cannot put an outside roller shutter and clean them by yourself without a ladder, i very often point this on commentary sections. That's really odd for us !

You buy freestanding wardrobes or have fitted. Some homes are big enough to have a walk in wardrobe or some dedicate a bedroom just for clothes.
