The way I see it, it's definitely just a reference. At best there's probably only gonna be one more TOC matchup for next year after Kratos Vs Asura and Wile E Vs Tom, and I don't see how it could be anything other than Anne Vs Luz, so that leaves Monokuma Vs Koro Sensei out, and considering how recent the cast episode was, I doubt it's hinting towards Junko Vs Springtrap either.

I hope animation will be in 2d, just my opinion. As about battle, they will probably uses lore for both, (because its death battle, they litteraly used collaborations for debates like here among us vs fallguys), so Kratos win, and so i root for him. But the thing i want the most is to make two sides cool and fight enjoyable.
