I lived in Four Lanes in the 70`s and saw the original UHF part of the Mast being installed by Venn Bros to bring Colour and BBC2 to Cornwall as at the time we only had BBC1 and ITV from Caradon Hill . They used the guy wires to lift equipment up to the top. If I remember correctly it took about two or three months to install due to weather conditions. There`s an old Four Lanes saying, `If you can see the Mast, its not raining? If you cant see it, its raining!`

& all this w/a storm front moving in, or was that simply the marine layer, fog rolling onshore? Watching this, 2 words come to mind: Space Needle! Never seen the like before, except perhaps during televised shuttle repair space walks. If I lived in the area, I think I'd have a newfound appreciation for my tele-reception, that's for sure!

The music Mark uses is from a web site called Audio Network, possibly the worst royalty free music web site out there. They have some excellent music but the problem is that they'll copyright claim your video if you use their "royalty free music". Bit pointless of it being called royalty free, isn't it?

There are NO "TV transmitters on the top of the huge structure" only aerials....

Was there any disruption to the service during this work? I don't own a TV so I wouldn't know. Surprised they replaced whole pieces like that, most efficient way of doing it really. Didn't see any sort of cables (power/data) or anything, do they hitch it up later?

It's a transmitting station so just TV and Radio.
