This has been brewing for 5-6 years now, and it's all on Levy imo. He rested on his laurels and failed to back Poch and this is what has happened. 7 managers (including caretakers) later, countless mediocre signings, not having ready made replacements for fading stars. If we're all hobest, it's been a shit show for ages and i honestly don't know how we get out of it.

Injury excuses are lame.. Why? I'll break it down: We had the same injuries when we beat City, Southampton and Man Utd We didn't have any injury worries when we lost to Palace, Ipswich and Bournemouth. Why do we have So many injuries aftwr just 17 games?? Other than Romero & VDV, and Vicario, who else are we REALLY missing to help us out from the bench? We've had over 200 attempta on goal AGAINST us in last 10 games.... Go figure. Sure, no one expected us to beat Liverpool but to concede 6 at home is a travesty. Every other team has managed a respectable scoreline against Liverpool, even Southampton and Fulham... Hell, Everton managed to quell Chelsea but we condede 4 and 6... Why??... Because of the managers tactics and refusal to change even with his lame excuses of injuries that HIS training has caused so early.

Many things can be right (IMO) at the same time. 1. We do have the injuries (unsure who the 10 are that keep being referenced though). 2. The manager’s tactics are ridiculous and never change. They were found out a year ago. 3. The ownership of the club doesn’t care about the football and needs to sell. They are the main problem. Thanks for the stable financial position and shiny stadium, but please go. 4. Our squad is pretty bang average, and is short in some positions (like every season). 5. It’s ok to have an opinion and it’s ok for somebody to have the opposite. 6. Not wanting to concede 13 goals in the last 3 home games doesn’t mean we want Conte back, especially when the tickets are the most expensive in world football. 7. A prime Sir Alex with Pep as his number 2 couldn’t win anything at this football club.

2022-2023 season Liverpool won 8 of their first 22 games in the league with some key injuries for 5 players - Thiago, Jota, Konate were the main ones but also Ox and Jones... find me a team in the history of the premier league who have been able to cope with an injury list like ours

@ great questions and I would say that man united are a pretty poor team so in comparison to Liverpool it’s winnable at home (just) even with all the injuries. We also had a fair bit of rest because the Southampton game wasn’t too intense. However after the United game we were dead on our feet against a fully rested Liverpool team. And I take your second question which is suggesting that we were inconsistent even before the injury issues. And I agree that this is a problem. But I think it would be unfair to not take the injuries into account

Getting in better players won’t work long term this project has no proper foundation outside of playing on the front foot. Ange always said this would be a painful rebuild with bumps along the way. Ange said he wouldn’t sacrifice his vision of long term sustained success by compromising playing ethos/style in the short term. I can’t make up my mind on Ange. We are very short of quality backup. Our first team is 6.5-7 out of 10 but our 2nd team is 4-5 out of 10. If Ange gets properly backed with top quality experienced players will his system work better and will we succeed. I can’t make up my mind what I think.
