There was still the entire Brezhnev clique. Podgorny retired in 1977 as nominal head of state and died in 1983, while Kosygin died in December 1980 two months after leaving the presidency of the government, Suslov the second secretary of the CPSU and main ideologue of the party died in early 1982, with he disappeared the remains of the most stoic communism, Brezhnev as secretary general and leader of the nation died in November 1982 leaving a legacy of corruption and poverty, Kirilenko retired from political life due to health problems and that his son defected to the United Kingdom , retiring a few days after Brezhnev passed away, passing away in 1990. Not much is said about the Brezhnev clique although I find the Brezhnev era very interesting. Other prominent members include Andrei Gromyko, Konstantin Chernenko, Fyodor Kulakov, Yuri Andropov, Grigory Romanov, Viktor Grishin, Nikolai Tikhonov, and Dmitry Ustinov.

What year did the SU finally go in full in color? I know 76 was in color. How come 75 was in black and white or is there 2 different film versions of the same parade in the same year?

+TheYizuman Well the previous year's May Day parade was in color. I think in 1975 the Soviets were using up their surplus stock of black and white film here. I imagine they still only had a limited amount of color film and with 1975 marking the 30th anniversary of victory over Nazi Germany, I think they wanted to save all their color film stock to record those celebrations.
