The shipping crates for these things are worth keeping - my husband used the crate from my XL425 to make the shelves for the water mixing station, and part of the cabinet drawers beside my tank. It was awesome that when he painted the water station shelves gray, he left a small square unpainted to show the serial number. I love it. Really enjoyed this video and it would be good to see at some point, what the tank looks like after it’s matured a bit. Lol, and I liked the “Whoop!” at the end, pretty much what I did when mine was ready....😁

Once again informative. Would like to highlight a couple of points.. people should not underestimate how heavy these tanks are, it's not simply the crate which is heavy. Plan ahead in terms of manoevering the tank through the house. Some people need to remove doors from frames to give a bit of extra space.

Another great video. Have you guys noticed any issues with the stands for the larger Red Sea tanks. There have been some posts on various forums that mention that the stands on the bigger RS tanks sag over time. I'm going to be in the market for a new tank in the spring (northern hemi) and I'm torn between Red Sea and Waterbox.
@GalleryAquaticaTV5 жыл бұрын
I’ve installed heaps of the big Red Sea tanks and never seen the sag in person. It’s definitely something to be aware of, but I’ve always assumed the tanks I’ve installed don’t suffer from it coz I’m always so careful to get the “feet” adjusted perfectly. Cam

I have a Red Sea Reefer. And I can tell you the plumbing is inadequate for 250l. It's definitely hopeless for 625l! Nice tanks, but they completely let us down with thin plumbing and inadequate Herbie style drains. Totally ridiculous. And so easy to fix if they bloody cared.
@lukemilne69225 жыл бұрын
I've got the 625xxl and no dramas with the plumbing. My main issue was with the return valve, it had too much power on the front glass causing sand to move. Just changed the nozzle with a random one
@TilmanBaumann5 жыл бұрын
@@lukemilne6922 I find the membrane valve quite fussy. And the secondary drain is quite loud. And the pipe diameter is just not good enough for high turnover.

Sandals and bare foot, some people like to live life dangerously while dealing with heavy glass boxes. Let this be a lesson to all you kids. Wear steel toe protective shoes when dealing with very heavy items unless you want to lose your toes or feet.
@stephenbatchelor31015 жыл бұрын
You're just gonna put the sand in without cleaning the inside of the tank and leave the styrofoam bits in there.
