I bought the fake ones and the real ones. They are so identical when it comes to everything. So I returned the real ones back to Apple and I am thoroughly enjoying my £40 AirPods. Also the real ones have a white light at the front whereas the fake ones have an orange light.

The easiest way to tell is by looking at the BOX where they spell "AirPods" the "i" on the original one is round at the top and on the fake it's a sqaure tip!

I have the i12s and I get the real airpods popup screen it doesn't show connect in blue... Just says airpods be careful

The thing that gave it away for me was trying to update the airpods firmware. I left the airpods next to my phone for at least an hour and they didnt update, after I checked the box ,case and each airpod and they all had the same serial numbers so yeah I definately got scammed at least next time i would know to buy directly from apple.

I’m confused The case holder was a hard cardboard instead of plastic, the serial numbers were different on the pods and same on the box and in Bluetooth, the box was neat but the seal was paper, the not your headphones popped up and the light is green so which one is it?

2 months ago I was approached by a middle eastern man at the gas station. Long story short I gave him $280 for a Apple Watch and AirPods and they were FAKE. Within a week the quality was crappy, distorted, and just didn’t feel right however, I would’ve never known that at the time I was buying them because when he opened the box to show me they were “Real” both devices actually displayed as Apple products on my Bluetooth. These fakes are extremely difficult to identify. The guy at the T-Mobile store even told me how amazing they were for being fakes! He also told me his friend goes to New York buys wholesale fake AirPods from the Asians and he sells them for $70. He told me he pays no more than $15 per box Smh how could anyone sleep at night scamming so many innocent people

I bought fake one for 50€ it even have a real serial number and it immediately connect with my iPhone. It says nothing that about fake. The case is very and pods a very qualitative. The "fake" pods are better then most no name buds. I suggest to buy the fake.

I just bought some 3s too and I’m panicking they sound really good and everything checks out, the serial number matches both boxes and even the settings searched it up on apple’s website and it says AirPods 3s, I’m also on iOS 16 and so far haven’t gotten the message maybe I’m just being paranoid😭

Lost my 2nd generation. Ordered AirPods 3 for half the price compared to a legit site. They arrived and from pulling the straps to the serial numbers, led light when first opened and the cable they were complete fakes. Even the seller called me to ask why I returned them. I ordered new ones from the site I bought my original 2s. Will pay more but at least I’ll know I got the real ones. Thank you for the help. It was definitely useful.❤️❤️🌹

Can you see if a listing for your fake Airpods pops up in the About section in Settings underneath the Carrier Lock listing when you open the Airpods case? A YT channel said fakes don’t have Apple iOS, so they don’t pop up in the About page while the real ones do as I have real ones and they do pop up. Just trying to see if any fakes pop up or not.

??? As a die hard android fanboy in the past you are so wrong. I have galaxy buds pro and airpods gen 3 and they both sound very similar in audio quality. I prefer the airpods cuz they fit my ears and are a million times more comfortable without tips. I completely stopped using my FiiO FH3 wired buds cuz the airpods are so good.

@@tricker7060 its all very subjective i guess, but i have a confession, im a bit of an audiophile, hence why i was a little harsh on apple. airpods i guess can be good if you dont like 'in-ear' fittings and only listen to current pop/dance/rap as they have a very mid scoped eq profile, making them not very good at all for other types of music genres.

@@idonotcomplyrevolution I'm a bit of an "audiophile" myself. I had the Sony xm3 headphones as well and i still think the airpods sound better. Yes it's subjective. That's why you can't say they are bad and not worth the price. This as you said are the only buds pretty much without the annoying tips that dig into your ear and constantly falls out or irritate. But that has nothing to do with the sound. They sound amazing for any type of music i have tried. I mostly listen to trance or Hardstyle etc which is mid focused but they sound good no matter what music imo. I guess it comes down to fit. They fit my ears perfectly so the sound is good for me. You can't adjust with tip sizes on these so would make sense. I just don't wanna hear they are bad cuz they aren't. It's the only earbuds i can tolerate pretty much. They have ton of bass and crisp clean audio and are so comfortable i forget they are in my ears. Saying they are bad and you can get better sound much cheaper is a bit of a misleading thing to say sorry

Never heard worst sounding headphones than apple ones. It doesnt matter which generation they all sound terrible and leak sound like crazy. Best bet is to avoid and save ur self some money in the proces! Unless you are apple sheep or completely deaf. Both terrible to be frank with exception of apple ones being stupid expensive.

I disagree. My airpods gen 3 sound on par with my galaxy buds pro and FiiO FH3. The audio quality and comfort together is unbeaten by anything i have tried yet. Apple does many things wrong but definitely not their airpods.
