Beautiful Burgmansia plants and stunning garden! I dont know if your willing to try but I have seen great success in starting cuttings in water - it helps them develop roots much more prolific and quickly before going into soil.

Thank you so much! So far is the most informative video. You are wonderful lady! I love my Angel Trumpets, but I had no idea how to propagate them. They survive winter, but old stems die, and new one will come from ground. Some of them will bloom, some don't. THANK YOU! I may share them now, because so many people stop and admire .

Djeez, what a beautiful garden you seem to have ! I'm guessing you live somewhere warm. I can't keep Angel's Trumpet over winter unless I take them in the house. Brugmansia is my favourite, I just can't wait for sunset for its smell. It needs a lot of attention though in central Europe, since it is tropic. You can get bigger roots by simply putting the stems in a jar of water and later putting them in soil.

Thanks for sharing, they too are one of my favourites. Exactly, it's all about the flower and the smell.

Your video is amazing. Thank you for your clear explanation although you didn’t show where you cut the stem off of the tree (or did I miss that somewhere?) And when is the best time to do this? Thank you so very much!
@redsoilgardener2 жыл бұрын
Hi Victoria, thank you for following our channel. On the Brugmansia look for a branch or stem about one and half inch in diameter and take a cutting of about four inches long. Make sure when you place it in soil the right way up. Best time is early spring through to summer when it is actively growing.

They are amazing and their fragrance is amazing. I just read that if you do grow it in a pot, when the temperature drops in fall, you can move it in a cool dark frost free place.. 30-45 degrees Fahrenheit is ideal. You water occasionally to keep it moist. Then in spring you can repot it and it jumps back to life.

Olga, I live in Wisconsin and have several varieties of Brugmansia, some over 30 years old, and winter them over successfully. They are a easy plant to care for, just give them lots of water and fertilizer in the summer and enjoy!

Wow great tips! And yes the scent in the evening is to swoon for 🙂My only concern is the bees they attract. Any advice on that.
@redsoilgardener4 жыл бұрын
The bees only come during the flowering season. Plant it a distance away from the house and entertainment areas. If you allow the plant to grow into a tree it will produce more blooms and intensify the fragrance

What is the best time to cut and start more plants
@redsoilgardener3 жыл бұрын
I actually do cuttings all year round, however if you are in a colder climate I would recommend to start in spring. Propagation need warmth to start the rooting process.

Hey Alice! Any suggestions to help rid Brugmansia of yellow spots. I rooted a nice crop inside and moved outside last week onto a concrete walk awaiting planting in the ground. Now they have yellow spots on the leaves. Help! ☺️Thank you!!
@redsoilgardener Жыл бұрын
Hi, it could be the Downy mild dew, which does affect the Angels Trumpet. What I would do is get some Neem spray and spray the plant especially the underside weekly. This should be done until you see that the spots are not spreading, which means you have it in control. The beauty about the Brugmansia is they do lose their leaves at intervals before flowering. So you will get fresh leaves. Best of luck.

Thank you so much!!! I will do just that! I appreciate it!!! 😃👍💯

Hi Connie, if you have a friend who has the plant, all you need is a section of the branch and then follow the propagation technique. Good luck!

Hi, I have to be very honest with you, I have so many Brugmansias in my garden though I know they are toxic. I use gloves when prunning and sometimes I forget. I have my four babies( dogs) and so far have had no problem. But I can understand your concern. Its always best to go with your gut feeling. Sending greetings from Kenya.

Como conseguir que no se hielen en invierno. Vivo en Madrid 🇪🇸España
@redsoilgardener2 жыл бұрын
Hi Elena sorry took so long to answer. I got a bit stuck with the translation. what I need to know is do you have the plant in a pot or in the soil? And in Spain what are your winter temperature? If in the soil is it in a warm area where it will receive a lot of heat, for example against a wall? The problem with the Brugmansia is it cannot withstand cold temperatures especially if the temperature drops lower than 40 degrees Fahrenheit. If your plant is in the garden I would insulate the roots with mulch. If in a pot bring it inside or place it in the basement as the plant will go in dormancy. Water sparingly.

This Angel Trumpet is beautiful, but just read other posts that it's highly toxic.
@redsoilgardener Жыл бұрын
Hi Karen Happy New Year and sending blessing for this coming year. Angels Trumpets are so beautiful. Once they flower the attract pollinators and the icing on the cake is the fragrance at night. They are known to be toxic, however, it how one handles them. If you do have kids I would plant them further away from the house and if you handle them wear gloves. I have mine all over the compound and I have not had a problem with regards to my dogs.
