Nathan, You asked about info regarding our use of spiders, well: Next to setting wood to trash in the builder spiders a stack of cliff explosies would be usefull. Also they might destroy rocks containing stone and coal, so set those to 0 in the logistics too. Your blue spider lacks the substations needed to build your solar blueprint. I mostly don't use more than 100 bots per spider for power issues indeed. Setup: two reactor, two roboport II, 1 exoskeleton, 4 battery II Not all fighting spiders need a roboport to heal. My fighting spiders mostly come in three kinds: Point, laser support and medic. Point= leader has one fewer lasers in exchange for an extra shield He will take the brunt of the attacks. Laser support follows the leader and is the usual build of one reactor, three exoskeletons, two laser, two shield II and two Battery II. The medic, same as laser support, but no or maybe one laser and instead a roboport II and maybe extra batteries. All fighters equipped with rockets offcourse. I don't recommend using black as colour for a spider wich you use with the remote as it's hard to determine wether the remote is appointed to a spider or not. Its ok when used on follower spiders.(like laser support for instance). Have fun!

I just unlocked slidertrons for the first time and these things are revolutionary man. They're so useful and versatile, looking forward to making my own army as well :)

Sending rows of Spidetrons to battle is one of the top factorio moments. For the factory!

Fightertrons damage come mostly from walking into their own rockets. Queuing movements was not originally available for spidertrons which is why you might not have known about it. For buildertrons, I like to give them almost everything needed to build general outposts, etc at a good ratio. Then I can just add more to the group and copy/paste the logistics if they don't have enough to build an outpost. That way I don't have to keep track of which spidertron has what resources. I do have a separate group for landfilltrons as filling in a lake takes forever. If you ever have your buildertrons around when you're deconstructing something watch out. They'll get gummed up with resources off the belt pretty quick. Might be good to add most resources to auto-trash in each spidertron's logistics. I wish there was any easier way to do this.

I would really like to have the option to connect the waypoint to the starting point to make em do survaillance routes as a loop. (like in some rts games)

About the tree problem : can't you just have a lumberjack spidertron clean up terrain (and maybe blow up cliffs) before sending the builder spidertrons ?

I thought you were making an army. I do 5 for landfill, 5 for builder, and 5 for fighting. That makes it way easier to do things. I find that a couple isn't enough once you get to mega builds.

I don't think your fightertrons need a roboport or construction robots. Maybe two more batteries in place of roboport.

@@Nathans-Sandbox I have a medictron that has roboports and lots of shields that I chain to one of the followers in the fightertron group. I still haven't found a great way to make sure bots don't come out during fight, though.

Just use command to deactivate biters and polution, they are not interesting in late game. Designing of factories is more fun and interesting

it also reduces the calculations needed and by this ups load significantly, which ist imho the most breaking point if any mega base

@@vonrheinland4924 honestly I'd like something like in space exploration, where you can completely erase all biters and "clean" the planet - completely removing any biters via command is also a little bit sad, as you loose any reason for battle mechanics, but yes, fighting them is kind of annoying. I tend to just use water blocks and then conquer more and more land, which I protect via waterblocks, such that all biters come to one point. ( Yes, it's "cheaty", but we're talking rocket flying but no water ditch ?!)

@@User-md3ul totally agree with you, it would be great that in even in the base game there would be a top military technology to launch a warhead with your rocket to destroy all biters (and internally stop pollution)

I always end up disabling the biters too early. Before I see an impact on UPS I will not remove them.
