Reduce DIGITAL NOISE on the C500 Mark II - AMAZING Low Light Performance!
We've found after some tests that there's some pretty simple settings to change in your Canon C500 Mark II to improve the low light performance of the camera. For some reason, it's not the camera's default settings, but here's what to do to get the best low noise performance from your camera.

Full frame and large format sensors have better dynamic range and low light performance, not because of the sensor size. it's due to the pixel pitch of the sensor, image processing, Signal to noise processing, and sensor technology. The bigger the pixels, the more light they gathers. hope this helps.

thanks for the thorough comparisons. I don't know if it is just me, but with youtube compression at 1080p one can hardly notice the differences. Do you think that with a 4K version differences would be more prominent?

I definitely think this is a KZbin compression issue, I rechecked in Premiere and can definitely see a noticeable difference. Not sure how else to display it but trust me, and if you get your hands on the camera, give it a try for yourself!

This was well done. Could you please do the same with Panasonic s1. What the best noise reduction on s1, I prefer if you had gh5 or g85 but I know not everyone has it.

Good idea! The settings are less complex in the S1, but I'll look into it.

I have kept these settings the same since then and have never noticed any ghosting or artefacts, so it seems like a workable trick to me! I don't tend to shoot in RAW - I don't find I see the benefits v/s what you sacrifice in computing power and hard drive space. Thanks for watching!

great video, but two months later, are you still sure about this method? did you have any problem about the quality of the image when you use frame corrélation? and when you shoot in movement?

I haven't yet seen any issues or ghosting from this technique, and under been using the camera often!

You forgot to test moving shots with Frame correlation on to check if theres ghosting and if its useable in anything other than a still shot

There is not ghosting if you move the camera or shoot moving subjects - I didn't include it in this video, but have tested it and can confirm there is no ghosting.
