Matt Johnson from Infiltrator® Water Technologies talks about new products in the septic industry! These products help better protect the environment, reduce the space needed to treat septage effluent, and have a much longer lifespan compared to traditional pipe-and-stone systems.
Combined Treatment and Dispersal (CTD) products are used to increase treatment and reduce drain area footprint in septic systems. These products do this using surface area and sand. The surface area creates more space for biology to attach to and treat the effluent coming from the septic tank. Traditional systems leave this process up to the soil surface alone, making it less effective. CTD products also increase the presence of oxygen using passive vents and airspace within the product to further speed up the treatment of the effluent.
