I was very relieved to have NOT heard the word "Green". Any effort to improve water quality and ecosystems is very much welcome. The industry as a whole has a lot of cleaning up to do. Biofuels, electric and sail power still require oil and coal to make it to market. Aluminum, steel, fiberglass, epoxy, resin, carbon (there's that word) fiber and even "Traditional" wood construction requires a massive "carbon" footprint to manufacture and dispose of. Ablative bottom paint is poison, as is copper and Teflon (or equivalent). Stray electric in and around marinas. Not to mention biowaste that just "accidentally" makes it overboard in those same marinas. Coastal pollution is blatantly obvious when viewed from satellites and the inland water ways are beyond disgusting. The Americas are not even the biggest marine, or atmospheric polluters. However, we DO rely on the inexpensive resources that are derived in those other countries. So, Thank You for not using that undefined five letter word. P.S. I love boating, both power and sail.
