Highly, highly recommended! Phil and The Soundproofing Store were hugely supportive when I converted my garage into a studio last year. The reductoclip is incredibly easy to use - give Phil and team a shout!

I'm having sleepless nights thanks to the teenage girl that shares the party wall. Constant chatter and loud laughter through the night.

Hi @roverboy4244, the ReductoClip System will certainly help with this. More information can be found below. If you need any help or advice, please don't hesitate to get in touch (01423) 206208. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqaxdaaPgLGjp9E www.soundproofingstore.co.uk/reducto-clip-system

Great video! I’ve wanted this system for a while now, it’s only the cost that’s stopping from buying (at the moment)

Can this work for interior walls?
@SoundproofingStoreАй бұрын
Hi @TheGodfather101, absolutely, the ReductoClip System can be used for interior walls. Another option you might like to look at for interior stud walls is SoundBoard 4: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKKqYXlqftNqasU www.soundproofingstore.co.uk/soundboard-4

Very interesting video. Is it ok to skip on the resiliant chanel / decoupling method If my sole interest is to reduce only airborne noise and not impact noise? I have an integrated garage with a bedroom upstairs and would like to reduce noise leaving the garage to bedroom upstairs and outside the house. I'm not at all bothered by impact noises transferring from upstairs joists to the garage/Workshop below. Would it be sufficient in this case skip on decoupling and instead fill between joists with Rockwool RW3, use 2 layers of acoustic plasterboard, tecsound, leaving a 5mm edge around the walls to fill with acoustic sealant? Aside from that I know that the weakest link will be the garage door. Thanks in advance.

This is a common mis-understanding unfortunately. We tend to categorise sounds as airborne or impact to try and make the very complex subject of sound a little easier to understand. However, all sound is vibration. It doesn't matter if it's airborne or impact, it's still a physical vibration energy that is travelling through the structure. If there is no de-coupling that energy will transmit through quite freely. Just adding more mass will improve things to a degree but will have limitations, once you add in de-coupling you get a huge improvement in sound reduction. So really it's up to you how far you want to go and how good a sound reduction you want to achieve, but the de-coupling can easily improve the airborne performance of that kind of build up by 15dB to 20dB which is huge!

Would this work where my upstairs neighbour has a very creaky laminate style flooring?
@SoundproofingStore10 ай бұрын
Hi @anthonyalton711 - It would certainly help. Although to give the best advice, creaky floors really need to be dealt with at the source to properly solve the problem. But if that's not a possibility, then a de-coupled acoustic ceiling is the next best thing. Check out this video where we install a the system on a timber joist ceiling - kzbin.info/www/bejne/apKziopofcd5aKc

Hi folks, I'm the guy who recently commented on the sounboard video and you sent me to this product. This seems to be a product for mounting on an existing wall, but would this work for custom building a freestanding audiobooth thats basically 1.2m by 1.2m and about 1.8m high? with one side being hinged to get in and out. I appreciate your thoughts, I would probably be layering the inside with a sound absorber as well.
@SoundproofingStore Жыл бұрын
Hi Peter Matthess, the ReductoClip System can be installed direct to wall, however for your project you need to look at the ReductoClip Independent Wall System (covered off in the video) which is the highest performing system and used for music studios and audio booths (also used on ceilings). Built on an independent stud frame a min of 10mm from the existing wall (essentially building a room within a room): kzbin.info/www/bejne/nILGl52nhtunhbM www.soundproofingstore.co.uk/reducto-clip-system www.soundproofingstore.co.uk/studio-soundproofing For doors - the heavier and more dense the better (upgrading to solid core fire doors) with the recommendation to double up (the studio page link above goes into more detail about this and also the best way to treat the floor). Any questions, please feel free to call us (01423) 206208

@@SoundproofingStore So essentially I'd need to build a box out of the stud frame, instead of just layering the inside of the whole room with it. Thanks for the recommendation!

We have building permissions in flats to think of and the mess of removing ceilings so would prefer mounting directly into the joists of the ceiling behind the existing plasterboard ceiling. Is this possible?
@SoundproofingStore2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dino S - You can install the ReductoClip system over your existing ceiling if you need to, however, this wont' achieve as good a sound reduction result which is why we don't recommend it. Removing the ceiling, insulating bewteen the joists and replacing the ceiling with the ReductoClip ceiling will give you a better sound reduction.
@Iggi20502 жыл бұрын
@@SoundproofingStore thanks. What would the rough dB reduction be for either option?
@SoundproofingStore2 жыл бұрын
@@Iggi2050 Based on an average build up of OSB board on the floor, single plasterboard on the current ceiling. Installing the ReductoClip over the existing ceiling should get you to around 50dB (Rw), whereas replacing will get you up to around 64dB (Rw). Considering average human hearing perceives every 10dB as a halving of volume, a 14dB improvement is huge.
@SoundproofingStore2 жыл бұрын
50dB is still a big improvement on what you would current have (probably around 38dB), but taking the ceiling down is worth it for the extra reduction.
