Do you leave the solar blanket on top when you're driving? Just looking for good ideas to keep it in place..

I wish you guys would produce a tutorial just on the RedArc menus. I have had my Redvision for 6 months and still don't understand the menus and what the symbols are.

Nice setup. Does anyone know the best way to setup two unregulated solar panel sources to the BMS? I was looking to run a double adapter Anderson from the BMS to plug my 2 solar panels in permanently from the roof & when stationary at camp, plug my portable solar into the other Anderson. This would mean the BMS would be accepting power from different solar sources. Is that how you guys do it or is there a better way?

Definitely get a better answer than from me. For my camper trailer, I had 2 solar panels, and I did exactly what you said - a 'two-into-one' anderson plug, plugged into the solar controller, then one cord back to the camper trailer. Set them up facing opposite ways and then didn't need to move them at all during the day.

@@bradpoynting4691 Thank you. My whole plan was to have everything setup in the canopy of my Hilux. I have the Redarc Manager 30 & the Redvision but the wife has thrown a spanner in the works & wants a camper trailer or off road caravan so now I am looking at another Redarc setup or possibly Victron. I can't run DC to DC in the trailer as it's going to the batteries in my Hilux so I'll have to rely entirely on solar & 240V at camp. The truck will have solar on the roof but I still need portable solar so I wasn't sure how to go about it or even if the Redarc can accept different solar inputs, from the roof as well as portable, both unregulated? I love the wank factor of switching on & off with the app using the Redvision & I have kids so it's a handy feature. The Victron I am looking at is two separate MPPT controllers. One for the roof solar & the other for portable. If you ran a Victron DC-DC as well, you could potentially put 50A of power in the batteries whilst on the go as opposed to the Redarc only taking in 30A. Green power priority will come into play from the roof panels & the alternator will supply the rest up to 30A with Redarc.

Yeah, I clicked the link to find that out too. Looks great, but woo boy, $3k is a lot - especially when you still need to buy your fridge, microwave apparently, solar panels, second battery, water tanks and sensors, lights, etc.
