It is magnificent. I had the opportunity to visit Redwood Forest with my family in 2002. Driving through the highways , walking inside the forest along the Creeks and the pleasent sceneries are still lingering in our memories. A PLACE WHICH EVERYONE SHOULD SEE IN THEIR LIFE.

I think the park should be much larger! I support the Ancient Forest National Park proposal that would combine all of the wilderness and roadless areas to the north, east, and south of the park!!!

For 6 months, some trails are almost barren of visitors. Nothing like busy Muir Woods. Humboldt and Del Norte counties are the place to experience. I go to the redwoods about every 6 weeks continually.

Went there...amazing, absolutely a cathedral of nature. It's like a Valhalla of American natural beauty. I left with a purchased Redwood sampling which I plan to plant here in Washington's coastal climate. Plant a tree, it's good for you

The label that states that it is on Highway 1 is incorrect. It is actually US Highway 101
@mrfortion4089 жыл бұрын
My hiking teacher told us that coastal redwoods were not cut down for there wood because the wood will break easily when it hit the ground among the different redwoods were the ones in Yosemite whose redwoods are different.

Sequoiadendron giganteum, the wide trees in the Sierra Nevada region, weren't logged nearly as much due to having a softer heartwood and brittle texture. Sequoia sempervirens, the tall trees in Redwood National Park, are durable, less susceptible to rot, and have a tougher heartwood. So they received the overwhelming brunt of the logging efforts.

Great video, only thing is, the video talks about Hwy 1 but I think you actually mean Hwy 101. Hwy 1 doesn't go through Redwood National Park or anywhere near it.
