Great video, It's beautiful I run this route every morning until a few days ago.. I ran up past the top waterfall and then almost over the edge.. There has been a massive landslide and it is not possible to get to the top at the moment. Very dangerous, unstable and a LOT of fallen trees.. I would avoid for the meantime.

My doggie used to love that walk, and we used to sit on the top pf Pen-Pych for about an hour before going down the other side and walking back home. It was a lot more awkward in bad weather before they put those steps in. At the front of the waterfall itself there is a kind of bowl where the water sits before it flows over the lip - it's called the swimming pool (or at least that's what we called it as kids). We used to sit there for hours in the water.

The walk up to the waterfall is officially closed at the moment because of possible landslide danger, and they are not going to fix it because of cost.

Why this suddenly turns up on my homepage. Possibly since I saw another some days ago. Nice work but you made a grave error. The Hendrewen Hotel is NOT in Blaenrhondda but in Blaencwm. These two villages at the top of the The Rhondda are on either side of Pen Pych. Might have been the reason you did not get to the waterfall before :D
