Another waterfall walk - kzbin.info/www/bejne/kHjGioamf8mnntU

The Rhondda Valleys are both beautiful with plenty of lovely walks. They are all quiet, but when you do meet people, be prepared to spend anything from ten minutes to an hour to have a chat, as most people are so friendly. I have lived here for several years now, and have never met such lovely people. Great video, but don't tell anyone else about our hidden gems!

I'm local to here, Caerphilly born and bred. I've heard of the waterfall but never been there myself. It looks absolutely stunning, may have to take a trip there! There is a small but very pretty waterfall in St Gwynno forestry. Worth a visit too. As you drive up the rhigos mountain road there are quite a few waterfalls dotted along the road sides. Wales is blessed with such magical scenery

I’m a member of the TUnnel society,as far as I know they are still waiting to be granted full ownership of the tunnel, and then hopefully they can start digging out the entrances. The tunnel is in fantastic condition internally. They have a website you can visit also

Thanks for the info. It sounds a great project and it will be good to see it open again.

Nice one Marcus, great vlog. 👍 Lived in South Wales all my life and never realised this scenic location existed! Stunning area and probably even better on a sunny day with the autumnal colours. Thanks for posting 👍 🤩

Glad you enjoyed. Although, getting a sunny day can be tricky in Wales 👍 Like you, I didn't know about it until I saw it pop up on Google Maps when we driving nearby.

I grew up amongst those mountains and waterfalls, you should see the place after the snow. Back in the 70s there were no fur trees on the mountain and up until the 80s that large waterfall you saw would often freeze over and men from Cardiff would come up and climb the frozen falls. There is also a place called Fairy Falls but you will never find it because it’s hidden by the side of the large green field. I used to love walking up Pen Pych on a misty day and as you walked higher you walked out of the mist and into the sunshine. Thank you for this video. Been in London for 20 years and need to return. If you see any daffodils on the mountain that’s because of me and my cousin who planted loads on the side of the walks. Before the official walk up to the top there is an old sheep path which we used to get to the top.

Glad it brought back some memories. I think I'll take another trip up there in the winter to see the difference. Despite the footpath, it is still quiet around there.

I just came across your channel and subscribed today. This walk is one of the most beautiful I've seen, and I hike and watch a lot of hiking videos. You do a great job narrating and taking video even in the rain. Love your wry humor and knowledge of history. Thanks for the great entertainment. I've not seen much about Wales in the past, so I'm learning new things from you.

One of my favourite walks Marcus. I'm not fit enough to reach the summit of Pen Pych these days, but I can reach the top falls on a good day. Look for "Rhondda Tunnel Society" for info on progress of opening up the old rail tunnel. It will be a great local tourist attraction if they succeed. All the best - hwyl fawr.

That was lovely. I really appreciate these trips where you take us to out-of-the-way places. The shots of the waterfall at around 07' 39'' were absolutely spectacular. You seemed to have this magical place all to yourself. Which day of the week did you visit? I ask because I hate crowds of people, especially loud mothers and their screaming kids.
